In a recent study involving 43 patients suffering from rheumatoid arthritis, we explored the impact of taking 1 gram of cod liver oil daily for three months. The results were striking. We observed notable reductions in morning stiffness by an impressive 52.4%, alongside decreases in both painful and swollen joints, each showing a 40% improvement. Pain intensity also saw a significant drop of 67.5%.

Additionally, the feedback from the patients was overwhelmingly positive. Approximately 68% reported that the treatment was effective, while a remarkable 95% praised its tolerability. However, it’s worth noting that 11 patients did experience some nonsevere adverse effects, but only three of those were possibly related to the cod liver oil itself.

Overall, it seems that cod liver oil can indeed offer relief for those grappling with rheumatoid arthritis, making it a treatment worth considering for improving symptoms of this autoimmune disorder.

In a recent study, we examined the effectiveness of cod liver oil in alleviating symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis. Forty-three participants took 1 gram of cod liver oil daily for three months. The results were promising.

We observed significant reductions in morning stiffness, with an impressive 52.4% improvement. Additionally, patients reported a 42.7% decrease in painful joints and a 40% reduction in swollen joints. Pain intensity also saw a notable decline of 67.5%.

When asked about their experience, 68% of patients rated the treatment as "good" or "very good" in terms of effectiveness, and an impressive 95% found it tolerable. While some patients reported nonsevere side effects, three of those reactions might have been linked to the cod liver oil.

Overall, we find that cod liver oil could be a beneficial addition to treatment options for those suffering from rheumatoid arthritis.

Since I started taking Carlson's CLO a few weeks ago, I've seen visible improvements in my health. At 31, I've struggled with stiffness, especially in the morning and my back, as arthritis runs in my family. This CLO has eased my stiffness considerably, reducing the achiness I used to feel. I've also noticed better memory and focus due to the DHA in the oil. Surprisingly, this December, I haven’t felt the winter blues as I usually do. I highly recommend this oil, as it has greatly benefitted me.

Hair loss is no longer a concern! Since I started taking cod liver oil, my hair shedding has almost ceased. I had issues with my endocrine system and poor hair health. This supplement has made a significant difference. While I need to focus on overall healthy eating—such as reducing refined sugar—cod liver oil is definitely beneficial for me. I'm truly grateful for this product! The taste is pleasant, and I absolutely love it!

We investigated the effects of cod liver oil, rich in omega-3 fatty acids, on heart health following a heart attack in rats. After a feeding period, we discovered that cod liver oil significantly boosted the heart's ability to withstand fibrillation and reduced abnormal heart rhythms.

It improved heart functioning during rest, but we found no significant impact on heart pressure or contraction speed. While there are some promising signs, the overall influence of cod liver oil on heart attack recovery remains limited.

We investigated the potential of DHA-enriched phosphatidylserine (DHA-PS) in addressing liver injuries caused by cyclophosphamide in mice. By administering cyclophosphamide over five days, we created a model to simulate this liver damage. Following this, we treated the mice with different doses of DHA-PS for a week to see if it could help heal their livers.

Our findings were quite promising. The mice receiving DHA-PS experienced significant improvements in key liver health indicators, including reduced inflammation and oxidative stress. Through advanced analysis, we discovered that DHA-PS helped correct metabolic imbalances caused by cyclophosphamide, which is a crucial aspect of liver recovery.

Additionally, we observed that DHA-PS has a positive impact on the gut-liver axis. This treatment restored the intestinal barrier, reduced harmful compounds in the bloodstream, and improved overall gut microbiota health. By balancing the gut bacteria, we enhanced the overall health of the mice.

Overall, the results suggest that DHA-PS could be a valuable therapeutic option or functional food for combating liver injuries related to cyclophosphamide. This study highlights the potential benefits of DHA on liver health and underscores the importance of the gut-liver connection.

To be honest, it is excellent in all its flavours. I ordered it a month ago to address my liver disease and related stomach issues. My immunity is low, and my weight has drastically dropped. Since using it, I’ve felt better, and I’ve started eating more. I will continue to buy it until I am fully healed. It assists in healing, but if the taste is too strong, one can use empty capsules, filling them and storing them properly. I wish for a speedy recovery for all.

We aimed to understand how dietary intake of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) relates to asthma in children. This investigation was based on a substantial group of 14,727 participants from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), which provided a comprehensive view of dietary habits and health outcomes over nearly two decades.

In our findings, we observed that asthma was reported in about 15.38% of the participants. Interestingly, we found a notable negative association between DHA intake and asthma prevalence. Specifically, children who consumed higher levels of DHA showed a lower likelihood of having asthma, with the odds especially favorable for boys, children aged 5 to 12 years, and those whose mothers smoked during pregnancy.

The data indicated that DHA, along with other omega-3 fatty acids like eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), can play a protective role against childhood asthma. These findings suggest that encouraging a diet rich in these healthy fats could be beneficial in reducing asthma risk in young children, particularly among specific groups at greater risk.

Effective oil! It has a distinct fish taste but it’s bearable. As someone who often suffers from chronic cough due to tonsillitis, I noticed that I stopped getting ill altogether! I also discontinued coca and started consuming this oil alongside evening primrose oil, which led to my cycle recovering after a year of issues. Five stars!

We investigated how cod liver oil affects coronary artery disease in pigs on a high-fat diet over eight months. By comparing 7 pigs that received cod liver oil to 11 control pigs, we observed significantly less disease in the oil-fed group. Notably, lesion size and arterial narrowing were reduced, suggesting that cod liver oil may influence heart health. Both groups had high lipid levels, but the differences in atherosclerosis weren't linked to these levels. This study hints at the oil's potential to slow coronary disease progression via changes in metabolism.

We conducted a double-blind randomized controlled trial to understand how prenatal supplementation of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) might influence infant health, particularly concerning the common cold. Pregnant women were given either a daily dose of 400 mg of DHA or a placebo starting at 18 to 22 weeks of gestation until childbirth.

Caregivers then reported on their infants’ health at 1, 3, and 6 months, sharing details about common illness symptoms. We found that DHA supplementation appeared to reduce the number of colds at one month and also seemed to lessen the duration of various cold symptoms in infants. Specifically, infants in the DHA group experienced fewer cold symptoms and had shorter durations of cough and wheezing.

While the overall occurrence of specific illness symptoms was similar between the DHA and placebo groups, DHA did bring about noteworthy benefits. At 1 month, infants in the DHA group had a 26% shorter duration of cough and 30% shorter wheezing; however, they experienced a longer duration of rash.

Furthermore, by the time the infants reached 3 months, those whose mothers took DHA were ill for 14% less time overall. At 6 months, the DHA group showed significantly reduced durations of several illness indicators, although they did experience longer episodes of vomiting.

This study suggests that prenatal DHA not only seems to impact the occurrence of colds in children but may also play a role in the duration of symptoms over the first half-year of life.

We aimed to investigate how docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) impacts cholesterol levels and brain glucose metabolism. In our study, we focused on aged SAMP8 mice, dividing them into two groups: a control group and one receiving DHA supplementation.

Our results revealed encouraging changes; the group that received DHA showed a decrease in total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, while high-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels increased. More importantly, we observed improvements in glucose metabolism in various brain regions, including the cortex and hippocampus.

These findings suggest that DHA may help lower harmful cholesterol levels and enhance brain function by regulating specific cholesterol compounds like 27-hydroxycholesterol, which are linked to glucose metabolism. Overall, our study highlights DHA's potential in supporting heart and brain health through cholesterol management.
