Vitamin D2 shows limited impact
Effectiveness of vitamin D2 supplementation on high-sensitivity C-reactive protein and other metabolic indices in menopausal Thai women: a randomized-controlled trial.
Most Relevant Research
We conducted a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled trial to investigate the impact of vitamin D2 supplementation on high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hsCRP) levels and other metabolic measures among menopausal Thai women.

Eighty postmenopausal women participated in the study, where they were split into two groups: one receiving vitamin D2 at a dose of 40,000 IU per week and the other receiving a placebo for a duration of 12 weeks. The primary focus was on hsCRP levels, a marker linked to inflammation, while secondary outcomes included various cardio-metabolic profiles and the risk of developing cardiovascular disease.

Our findings showed that although the vitamin D2 group experienced a notable reduction in hsCRP levels compared to the placebo group, the difference wasn't statistically significant by the end of the study. Other measured cardiovascular and metabolic outcomes also didn't show significant differences between the two groups.

Thus, while vitamin D2 appears to reduce inflammation markers in menopausal women, the overall benefits in hsCRP levels didn't reach statistical significance when compared to the placebo. This indicates a need for further research before making definitive conclusions about the benefits of vitamin D2 in this context.

Vitamin D's Impact on Headaches
Resolution of hypersomnia following identification and treatment of vitamin d deficiency.
Most Relevant Research
We explored how vitamin D treatment can influence headache severity in patients. In this case study, a 28-year-old woman experienced excessive daytime sleepiness without clear causes such as sleep disorders. Her symptoms included significant fatigue, chronic pain in her thighs and lower back, and daily headaches.

After identifying that she had low levels of vitamin D, we initiated supplementation, which quickly led to notable improvements. Within just a couple of weeks, her headaches improved significantly alongside her daytime tiredness. By the end of the treatment, both her headaches and other chronic pain issues had resolved or greatly diminished.

However, while the study indicates an association between vitamin D treatment and headache relief, it does not specifically isolate the effect of vitamin D2 solely on headaches. Therefore, while we saw encouraging improvements, we must note that further research is needed to establish a more direct link between vitamin D treatment and headache relief specifically.

Perfect! I have struggled to take any form of Vitamin D without suffering from massive headaches for nearly 20 years. Finally, I read about someone similar who switched to D2, and it worked. I'm eagerly awaiting my blood work to show an increase in Vitamin D for the first time in years, but for now, I am taking six capsules a day without any headaches!

Doxercalciferol improves bone health
Doxercalciferol Alleviates Bone Deteriorations and Cartilage Degeneration in Aging Mice.
Most Relevant Research
We sought to understand how doxercalciferol, a form of vitamin D2, affects bone health in aging mice, particularly in relation to osteoporosis. Through a series of experiments, we investigated its potential benefits in preventing bone loss, a common issue as animals age.

Our findings revealed that aging mice exhibited increased urine calcium excretion, decreased bone calcium content, and a reduction in biomechanical strength. However, upon administering doxercalciferol, we observed significant effects; especially, it lowered serum parathyroid hormone (PTH) levels which are commonly elevated in aging.

Additionally, our analysis through specific staining techniques confirmed that doxercalciferol helped protect against bone loss and supported cartilage regeneration. We also noted that the treatment enhanced the activity of bone-building cells while inhibiting the activity of cells that break down bone.

Overall, these results suggest that doxercalciferol could be an effective treatment for aging-related osteoporosis by enhancing bone health and improving overall quality of life.

Vitamin D2 aids allergy management
Vitamin d supplements improve urticaria symptoms and quality of life in chronic spontaneous urticaria patients: a prospective case-control study.
Most Relevant Research
We explored the role of vitamin D2 in managing symptoms of chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU), a persistent skin condition that can be quite bothersome. In our study, we included 60 patients with CSU and 40 healthy individuals for comparison.

Participants underwent vitamin D testing, and those with low levels were given a high-dose vitamin D2 supplement along with antihistamines for six weeks. Our findings revealed that a significant number of CSU patients had low vitamin D levels, which were notably lower than those in the control group.

After the six-week treatment period, we observed considerable improvements in both allergy symptoms and overall quality of life among those taking vitamin D2. Specifically, many reported feeling better and experiencing fewer urticaria symptoms. This suggests that vitamin D2 could play a beneficial role in managing allergies, especially in those with existing deficiencies.

However, it's important to note that vitamin D2 was administered alongside antihistamines, so we can't pinpoint its effect without considering the medications’ impacts. Overall, our study offers promising insights into how vitamin D2 might support individuals dealing with allergic conditions like CSU.

The quality is excellent, the effect is effective, and the price is reasonable. Vitamin D, the sun vitamin, compensates for the lack of sunlight exposure and boosts bone strength when used with magnesium regularly. It enhances immunity and may help protect against cancer if taken consistently. To maximise absorption, ensure you get some sunlight; just half an hour can yield remarkable results.
