Oh. Gosh.
I was all ready to discover that these 1000 mg chewables taste just like the 500 mg chewables and to defend their honor against all detractors. Well, hmm. In fact they don't taste just like their 500 mg counterparts; they don't really taste *anything* like their 500 mg counterparts, which are orange in color and actually taste like orange. By comparison, these 1000 mg wafers are blue in color and taste rather like the chlorine tablets you'd drop in a swimming pool. As befits a blue wafer thing. Blick. That said, I've only just now eaten my first-ever one, and I often find something terribly distasteful upon my initial encounter with it only to have it grow on me over time, through a combination of effort on my part to adapt and adjust to new circumstances and...their simply growing on me over time...because I want them to. It's about controlling the mind rather than allowing the mind to control you. I understand that the purpose of ingesting things like Vitamin C wafers, wheat grass, and all manner of healthy concoctions is not to savor their deliciousness, but rather to gain the health benefits they offer. And I am trained to some degree in a discipline that emphasizes the unimportance of sense pleasures, such as things looking pretty or tasting good, when there are much greater benefits to be gained by putting such superficial interests aside. So for as long as I find it necessary, I'll put those superficial interests aside and strive to concentrate on the benefits that drove my purchase: fending off colds and generally keeping the body healthy. And by doing that long enough, I will come to a point where I don't even think about nor particularly notice the flavor of these things, but simply take them because they represent a significant intake of Vitamin C. That works quite well for me. If, however, *you* (whom, you may have noticed, are not *me*) need all the things you put in your mouth to be tasty regardless of their purpose, you may prefer to pass these by in favor of the 500 mg version of the same wafer, by the same company. Those are orange in both color and taste, and should satisfy the expectations of someone expecting their orange-flavored wafers to be, well...orange. And to taste that way
