Yay…no toxic coating!!!

I really appreciate that this company does not put a toxic coating on their product! I find the size of the pill to be very tiny and easy to swallow, without lingering in the mouth. Some reviewers mentioned that the product dissolves quickly and tastes foul. I did not experience this phenomena, as I was able able to swallow the pill quickly, before either of the above complaints occurred. Also, the label states the product is suitable for vegetarians. If you're looking for a product that has a colorful coating on it and perhaps a sweet taste, then this is probably not for you. I've done some research on artificial ingredients often used in the food and drug industry, and those are not for me. It's wonderful when we get to choose

Won't use any other brand

I've taken iron supplements for iron deficiency anemia for a long time. I also have allergies and really HATED all the artificial colors, preservatives, fillers, etc., etc. that were in most of them. I was thrilled when I ran across these while searching through Amazon. No artificial colors, no Gluten, no preservatives - go to the page for the Nature's Bounty brand and read the back label. It's inexpensive, works very well, and does not have a lot of unnecessary additives in it. Geez, how much I wish more companies would do the same

Imagine…

So there you are, minding your own business. You decide it's time to take your iron supplement. You pop it into your mouth but behold, a vision. A vision of a rusty nail. But this nail you see, has several dense layers of coagulated blood. This rusty, bloody nail had once served a purpose. And that purpose was to keep freshwater lake fish in place by being driven through the end of their tailfin onto a cutting surface to make fileting easier. This rusty, bloody, foul, fishy nail is in your mouth and the back of your throat. You ress forward by drinking water in hopes of the vision to cease. After what seems to be forever, it finally dissipates. And you repeat this once a day until the bottle of iron is gone, because you paid for this affordable supplement and dammit, you're not going to waste it by throwing it away because you're a winner. A damn, stubborn winner

Go easy on them until your stomach is used to them

I had to start taking iron so that I could continue to give plasma twice a week. They are evidently working as my iron has gone up from 4-8% depending on the visit, but dear God I did not know what they were going to do to my stomach. Take with food and buy extra TP, cause you're gonna need it. I don't have a weak stomach, but I'd also suggest taking half a pill a day until you see if and how they affect you personally. Tips for the taste…

These are great but of course cheap pills and they will taste like a swarm of liquid Pennys if you have it with water- which is why I take mine with juice! If you do it just right, there will be no flavor whatsoever, and since you're supposed to take it with food, if you eat right after you should be able to get the taste out of your mouth. Try and wash your hands after too, because if you get residue on your hands and rub your face, you will smell it for a while ðŸ˜‚ hope this help

These actually work for me

These supplements are the only ones that seem to raise my ferritin levels. As a runner, it's been suggested by fitness professionals that ferritin levels should be ideally between 90-100ng/ml. I tend to run between 40-50ng/ml. I still have sparse hair, crazy hair falling out, and not great stamina (still, better than when I was in the 20ng/ml level). I've tried every iron supplement in the book -- natural, liquid, gentle, beef liver, co-factors, etc. I take one in the morning and one in the evening and that's when I tend to actually see a difference in my numbers. Hope to be able to someday just switch to one a day for maintenance. I don't eat much meat and run for health/fitness, but I do take beef liver capsules as well (Beef Liver and/or other Beef Organs alone has never been effective in raising my ferritin much). Yes, stools will turn black with these, as is typical with iron supplements. I don't seem to have many stomach issues with them. I'd suggest taking some Magnesium if you don't already to help with any constipation from them if that's a problem for you

I didn't have enough iron to donate blood ðŸ©¸ until I added these to my regimen. Now my iron is never too low to donate ðŸ§'â€âš•ï¸

Great for anemia

I have always struggled with anemia. Hemoglobin was down to 7 and it was suggested I start Iron supplements. In 2 weeks I was able to get number up to an 8 in a month it was at a 10. This supplement really works. I've felt like a different person since starting them

useful tips!

the directions say to take the pill with food and plenty of liquids. when i just drank a lot of water and took the pill, i started feeling nauseous- so don't disregard the food portion! when i ate and drank, there were no nausea symptoms. also the taste is disgusting because it is just straight up iron, which is why people remark that it tastes like metal - it's an iron supplement - duh. anyways, what i found helpful is that instead of putting water in your mouth and shoving the pill in after (dont do this - the pill will start to break off and share that disgusting metal taste) - put the pill in back of your throat THEN drink water. i like to keep drinking water, so if i burp i wont get that taste back. the taste makes me gag naturally, so im trying to spare you the horror of ever finding out its flavo

Tastes like a rusty nail

They're iron pills. If you need iron (because a blood test said you were low), these will work. A multivitamin with iron will also work, and will probably taste better, but it will cost more, and many multivitamins don't contain iron so check the label. These taste like rusty nails, so I'm sure they actually contain iron
