Phenomenal Eye Drops

Pros: Cheap - I got written a prescription for Restasis by my optometrist. I did my research and found that people have paid around $700 or so for a small eye drop bottle. No thank you. I found this works well for dry eyes. Moisturizes effectively and efficiently with proper technique - Tilt head back, pull down eyelid, look up, draw out 1-2 eye drops depending on your needs onto the center of your eye, close your eyes carefully so as to not allow a flashing spray of liquid to occur and massage your eyelids for a minute or so to appropriately let the drops soak into your eyes without air exposure drying them out before they have even gotten a chance to soak into your eye in the first place. Cons: None I notice a significant night and day difference in using this product versus not. As with anything, check ingredients to make sure it works for your needs. this stuff is a miracle – but you have to know that you need it!

When my ophthalmologist explained what was wrong with my eyes and told my about Systane, it was an amazing day. First off, I thought I just had either super sensitive eyeballs or kamikaze eyelashes, because I walk around with a constant feeling like there is something in my eye. No - apparently I have sticky eyeballs. The way he explained it: There are two types of tears: the salty kind when we cry (we replace those with Visine), and the oily kind that keeps our eyeballs moist and stops our eyelids from sealing themselves shut. These are produced by some gland that can get disrupted by a bunch of little things, for me lupus. So the reason why Systane feels so thick and weird as compared to Visine (this totally weirded me out at first) is because it is kind of like Astroglide for your eyes. But it makes life SO MUCH BETTER. I can wear mascara again! I can read for longer periods of time! I don't have to stop everything when I do get something in my eye because of the excruciating pain

Great for dry eyed contact-wearers

I have very dry eyes and wear the 1-Day Acuve Moist Contacts. Despite the name, the contacts usually dry out so much by the end of the day that when I take them out they're like dry paper. I've tried using Visine eye drops and various contact solutions (Opti-Free PureMoist solution) to help, but none of them have had an impact and some even make my eyes feel drier (visine). However, since using these drops at night or a couple minutes before putting in my contacts, I no longer experience the dry contacts. I won't say my eyes are still as moist at the end of the day as when I first put in the contacts as this product is not magic, but they are no longer painfully dry. I was worried about the amount/size as it's not very much, but I'm still on the first bottle and have been using it several times a week for 3 months now. I find I only need 1 drop per eye

My mom and I use this product religiously. Mostly becuase we both suffer from dry eye due to Lasik eye surgery. I have several lying around my house because it really saves my eyes. I have such bad dry eye usually in the Summer. It is so bad that sometimes I cannot open my eyes! These sustatine ultra are my eye savers! I usually need to put couple drops in the morning and for the rest of the day I am fine. My doctors says I should put them in consistently but I find puting eye drops so inconvenient sometimes because I wear makeup! I honestly would reccommend this product not only because my doctor recommended it, but also because it saves me the trouble of having to put eye drops all day. I buy these every 3 months

Several years ago, I became very good personal friends with my eye doctor (we discovered we are about one month in age apart, and I noticed that she had a book by one of my favorite physicists sitting on her desk :-p ) and she filled me in on something: if you wear contacts, as you age, no matter what, your eyes will simply begin to reject every lens more and more as time goes on. The best things you can do, are clean them carefully, wear them according to the packaging and doctor's orders, and keep your eyes very moisturized. I won't lie and say that this product isn't on the expensive size BUT, they are absolutely excellent drops AND if you are able to use eye drops very judiciously (I did a lot of practicing with less expensive drops: for me, the key is applying them as closely as possible into the inner corner of your eye, one slow drop at a time, and do lots of blinking in between drops). I'm so glad my eye surgeon recommended this. Game changing. For maximum satisfaction, try this: 1. Use clean hands and water to gently rinse eyelashes, eyelids, eyebags, and tear duct/inner corner of eyes 2. Point your face up and apply the drops directly onto your pupils. You might need to close your other eye to line up the dropper 3. Gently close your eyes and gently roll your eyes through their full range of motion 4. Dab any extra off of your tear ducts and/or eyelashes with a clean tissu

The best drops for daytime use!

Systane Ultra drops are an absolute necessity for me. I keep a bottle in my nightstand, in my desk drawer, on the kitchen desk, in my bathroom, and in my purse. I suppose that shows just how essential they are for my comfort and eye health. As one who suffers from clinically dry eyes, I rely on artificial drops. Plugs didn't work and I don't tolerate restasis. So that leaves artificial tears. Here is why I feel Systane makes the best product: They lubricate beautifully without being sticky. They don't leave a heavy residue around my eye, so I can still wear makeup and only minimally touch up my liner. Since I don't wear mascara and my lashes don't grow well, I have lash extensions (I know it is maybe not the best thing for a woman with eye issues... but I still like to look nice!) and they don't increase the shedding of the extensions. But most importantly, these drops are extremely soothing. My eyes simply feel better after using them. I love the gel, but it is impractical during the day so these are the next best thing. When my kids have irritated eyes, they ask for the "drops that feel really good'. Enough said

They don't BURN!

I have dry eyes so every piece of fluff flying through the air (including my own hair) eventually finds and gets stuck on my eyeball because my eyes don't produce enough tears to wash 'em out. I've tried many brands, but they all burned my eyes. I Suspect it was because their salt content as bit too high. I've used the Systane eye drops for years and like all their concoctions, none of which have caused any kind of discomfort. Very helpful in washing out the fluff and moisturizing my eyes. Was given another brand to try, but I'm very happy with Systane's products. I hope they never change their formulas

Recommended by my eye doctor

My eye doctor tried to get me a sample in his office for this product, but they were all out. He searched high and low. :) So far, this stuff is great. I was getting sharp, stabbing pains in my eyes due to dry eyes, but this is helping. He recommended against any drops to remove the redness because to do that, they use a vasoconstrictor drug in the drops to get rid of the red. Not good for the eyes. I am pleased with these drop
