Constipation relief

I liked it! Upon opening the jar, there's a distinct berry smell and a much lighter taste. I initially chose it for the berry mix (elderberry, raspberry, cherry, strawberry, cranberry) and probiotics, as I also give vitamin C to my children and need to be cautious with zinc (there's hardly any). However, the jellies tend to stick together, needing separation. Additionally, my son, who's 5, had constipation issues, but since taking these jellies, his immunity has boosted, and the constipation has completely disappeared! I'm genuinely impressed!

Researchers tested whether zinc acetate could help people suffering from persistent, hard-to-treat cough. In this randomized, placebo-controlled pilot study, 34 participants received either zinc acetate or placebo for 6 weeks, with improvements measured using four different cough and quality-of-life scales.

While zinc successfully increased serum zinc levels in treated participants, both groups improved similarly across all measures. The improvements in cough symptoms and quality of life were too small to meet clinically meaningful thresholds, suggesting zinc acetate offers no real advantage over placebo for chronic cough sufferers.

Happy as a boa constrictor! This perfect combination of components supports my body during colds and pandemics. I have poor immunity and previously got sick every month, often needing antibiotics for my chronic cough. However, these magical gummies have helped me enjoy the off-season and mostly forget about snot, cough, and sore throat.

We investigated how intranasal zinc (Zn) treatment affects symptoms of allergic rhinitis (AR), specifically focusing on individuals suffering from Japanese cedar pollinosis (JCP), a common seasonal allergy. In our study, we monitored 57 control subjects and 44 patients from preseason through the allergy season, observing the levels of Zn in both nasal fluid and serum.

Our findings showed that after exposure to pollen, the level of zinc in the nasal lining fluid of JCP patients significantly increased, while their serum zinc levels notably decreased compared to the control group during the JCP season. To delve deeper, we used model mice that could mimic these changes and the allergy symptoms of the patients.

The results from this mouse study were promising. We observed that treating these mice with a dose of zinc, similar to what humans might use, led to a notable improvement in their allergy symptoms. Additionally, the number of mucin-secreting goblet cells, which indicate a response to allergies, significantly decreased following the zinc treatment.

Our study points towards the potential of using intranasal zinc as a way to alleviate allergy symptoms, suggesting a new approach to managing allergic rhinitis.

We conducted a year-long study to investigate the effects of vitamin C on postoperative pain and recovery after a specific type of spine surgery known as posterior lumbar interbody fusion (PLIF). In this randomized, placebo-controlled trial, we worked with 123 patients, dividing them into two groups: one receiving vitamin C and the other a placebo.

Our main focus was to see how vitamin C influenced lower back pain measured by a visual analogue scale. While we found that there was no significant difference in pain levels at the one-year mark between the two groups, there was a silver lining. We observed that vitamin C appeared to enhance functional improvement, especially within the first three months after surgery.

So, while vitamin C didn’t seem to directly reduce pain intensity after surgery, it could play a role in supporting early recovery and everyday function. This finding may encourage further exploration into vitamin C's potential benefits in postoperative care for patients undergoing spine surgeries.

Pain relief achieved

After my rotator cuff surgery, I suffered from pain and numbness. I wanted to avoid painkillers, so I researched alternatives and decided to try zinc and magnesium. To my surprise, the pain and numbness diminished within 30 minutes of taking it. Although the effect lasts only a few hours, it provides significant relief from my back pain during the day. I even found the taste better than expected, and I appreciate the absence of bad additives.

We conducted a double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial to explore the effectiveness of a zinc oxide/glycine cream in treating cold sores caused by facial and circumoral herpes. By dividing 46 participants into two groups, one receiving the zinc treatment and the other a placebo, we aimed to measure how this formulation affected the duration and severity of cold sore symptoms.

Our results were quite promising! Participants who began using the zinc oxide/glycine cream within the first 24 hours of noticing symptoms experienced cold sore lesions that lasted only an average of 5 days, compared to 6.5 days for those on the placebo. Additionally, we noticed a significant reduction in the overall severity of their symptoms, including blistering, soreness, itching, and tingling.

As for side effects, subjects treated with the zinc cream experienced only minor and reversible issues typical of ionic zinc salt solutions. This indicates that the zinc oxide/glycine cream is not only effective but also safe for treating cold sores, presenting a valuable option for many people seeking relief from this common condition.

We explored the effectiveness of elderberry in treating influenza, drawing from clinical trials that examined its impact. Over the years, three specific trials involving different elderberry preparations were conducted, with a total of only 77 participants receiving treatment. While these trials concluded that elderberry could be effective against influenza, the very limited sample size raises questions about the robustness of these findings.

Additionally, it’s important to note that in the larger context of herbal remedies, there isn’t enough comprehensive evidence to fully endorse elderberry as a reliable treatment. Though the studies indicated some level of efficacy against the flu, the small number of participants means we must approach these results with caution.

Given that substantial evidence of safety and effectiveness is lacking, it wouldn't be prudent to rely solely on elderberry for influenza treatment, especially among vulnerable groups like pregnant women.

Awesome! Elderberry is a superb aid for health. It boosts the immune system, relieves flu symptoms, and reduces duration. Studies show that elderberry can lessen flu symptoms within 48 hours and significantly shorten cold duration in air travellers. This jar is delicious, sweet and sour, and both adults and children love it. I will certainly repurchase.

We delved into how elderberry, specifically from the black elderberry fruit, impacts the flu virus, H1N1. Using an innovative technique called Direct Analysis in Real Time Mass Spectrometry (DART TOF-MS), we were able to identify the powerful anti-viral properties of elderberry extract without the need for complicated processes like separation or derivatization.

Our findings revealed that elderberry extract does indeed inhibit H1N1 infection in a lab setting, with an effective concentration (IC50) of 252 micrograms per milliliter. Interestingly, we discovered that flavonoids present in the elderberry bind to H1N1 virions—essentially blocking their ability to infect host cells.

Among the compounds, two key flavonoids emerged: the 5,7,3',4'-tetra-O-methylquercetin and dihydromyricetin. These compounds not only bound to the virus but also effectively prevented infection. Notably, the tetra-O-methylquercetin demonstrated an impressive IC50 of just 0.13 micrograms per milliliter, which is comparable to well-known antiviral medications like Oseltamivir and Amantadine.

In summary, elderberry shows promising potential as a natural remedy against the H1N1 flu, offering a fascinating area for further research and utilization in flu prevention strategies.

Elderberry is touted as a super remedy for health care, rich in flavonoids that stimulate the immune system by producing cytokines. It combats bacteria causing respiratory infections and inhibits the replication of influenza A and B viruses. Its compound Antivirin prevents influenza viruses from invading healthy cells; its anti-inflammatory properties also alleviate fever, aches, and flu symptoms. Research indicates that elderberry extract, when taken early in flu, can diminish symptoms duration by approximately four days. A 2016 study in Nutrients Quarterly found that using elderberry prior to or shortly after travel could also lessen cold duration and symptoms. It has a delightful sweet and sour taste, making it a hit with both adults and children. I would certainly repurchase this product.

We explored whether elderberry could help reduce the duration and severity of colds for economy class passengers traveling internationally. In a well-structured randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial involving 312 participants, we looked at how a standardized elderberry extract affected respiratory health during air travel.

Participants tracked their cold episodes, duration, and symptoms in daily diaries, using a scoring method to quantify their experiences. They also completed surveys about their upper respiratory symptoms and quality of life at different points: before traveling and four days post-travel.

While we noted that the group taking the placebo experienced more cold episodes, the difference wasn't statistically significant. However, those taking elderberry had a significantly shorter duration of cold days and a lower average symptom score overall, suggesting that elderberry may significantly lessen the impact of colds during air travel.

Further research is essential to validate our findings and to better understand the broader health benefits of elderberry, both physical and mental.
