This product has greatly reduced my back pain and muscle twitches caused by the COVID vaccine. It’s my second bottle, and I especially appreciate the inclusion of Biotin, as ALA can deplete it. Update: I'm still using it with notable effectiveness.

We explored the protective effects of alpha-lipoic acid (LA) against liver damage caused by arsenic, a well-known environmental toxin. In our examination, we uncovered the mechanisms through which arsenic harms the liver, including its ability to induce autophagy, apoptosis, and oxidative stress, as well as disrupt lipid metabolism.

Our findings revealed that arsenic negatively impacts liver function primarily by reducing the expression of SIRT1, damaging mitochondria, and impairing a process called peroxisomal β-oxidation. This disruption leads to an increase in lipid accumulation and enhances lipophagy, which is the body's way of breaking down fats. However, when we administered LA, we observed a marked improvement. LA appeared to counteract the damage inflicted by arsenic by boosting SIRT1 levels, improving mitochondrial function, and encouraging peroxisomal β-oxidation.

This study clearly illustrates the potential of alpha-lipoic acid as a protective agent against liver injury due to arsenic exposure. By promoting better lipid metabolism and reducing harmful fat buildup, LA could serve as a valuable option for those affected by liver diseases induced by environmental toxins.

A must. I never want to be without this one. I take one per day to heal my damaged liver due to fatty liver disease. This helps the entire body and I believe everyone should be taking it. It's a super antioxidant that does many things. I know of a doctor in Las Cruces who administers it in an IV to treat cancer, including pancreatic cancer.

We aimed to understand how alpha-lipoic acid (LA) affects wound healing in diabetic conditions. The study involved five groups of mice: healthy controls, wounded healthy mice, wounded diabetic mice, and two groups of wounded diabetic mice treated with different doses of LA for 14 days.

Our findings indicated that LA plays a significant role in improving the healing process. It works by balancing the levels of anti-inflammatory and pro-inflammatory factors that are essential for wound recovery. Specifically, we saw effects on various immune cell types that are vital for healing, indicating that LA may help to enhance recovery in diabetic wounds.

This study highlights the potential of LA as a supportive treatment option for wound healing in diabetic patients, ultimately aiming to reduce the risk of infections and improve overall recovery from injuries.

Works well for glucose control. Being menopausal and hypoglycaemic has made it challenging to lose weight. I now follow a keto lifestyle and take these pills at mealtimes twice daily, complemented by Berberine, Keto BHB, and Forskolin. This combination, along with my diet, has enabled me to lose 20lbs and over 25 inches while maintaining healthy blood sugar levels. The pills are a bit large but manageable. As noted on the bottle, consult your endocrinologist or PCP if you are treated for diabetes or glucose control!

My husband was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in 2008 and has taken Alpha Lipoic Acid alongside his diabetes medication. Since he began using ALA, his blood sugar levels have remained stable with less fluctuation. There was a short period when he stopped taking ALA, resulting in an increase in his A1C, so he now ensures he takes it faithfully.

We explored a unique case involving a girl diagnosed with biotinidase deficiency, a rare inherited metabolic condition that can lead to notable skin and hair issues. The report highlighted her struggles with intractable dermatitis, yellow hair, and alopecia—symptoms that pointed to the underlying deficiency.

Biotin, a vital nutrient, was administered at a dose of 20 mg per day as a replacement therapy. Within one month, we observed a substantial improvement in her dermatitis, and by the three-month mark, her hair color had returned to near normal. The significant change in her condition illustrates how effective biotin can be for individuals suffering from both biotinidase deficiency and associated eczema-like symptoms.

This case serves as a reminder for healthcare providers, especially dermatologists, to consider biotinidase deficiency as a potential factor when treating similar conditions in children. By recognizing the importance of biotin, we can help improve health outcomes for those experiencing dermatological challenges tied to this rare disorder.

We conducted a double-blind, placebo-controlled study involving 52 patients with diabetic neuropathy on gabapentin or pregabalin to explore the effects of alpha-lipoic acid (ALA). Over 12 weeks, we found that ALA significantly improved vibration perception threshold and secondary symptoms like overall quality of life, oxidative, and inflammatory markers.

Importantly, participants reported no serious side effects, highlighting ALA’s potential as a safe option for managing diabetic neuropathy. These findings suggest ALA can effectively mitigate symptoms associated with chronic hyperglycemia.

Alpha Lipoic Sustain works GREAT! I take it to alleviate pain from idiopathic peripheral neuropathy. Prescription Lyrica didn't work well and caused side effects, muddling my thoughts! Alpha Lipoic Sustain is effective, and I take about 1,200 mg (or 4 tablets daily) without any side effects. Jarrow seems to be the best among the alpha lipoic acids I've tried.

I've been taking this for peripheral neuropathy for several years, and it significantly helps with the pain in my feet. However, if I forget to take it, I quickly feel the discomfort in my knee pain at night and often double my dosage for a day or two. My prescription medications don't alleviate this specific pain, and it was recommended by a nurse to those with diabetes.
