We explored the connection between magnesium deficiency and various challenges commonly faced by postmenopausal women, such as chronic pain, memory decline, and mood disorders. Our research specifically focused on how magnesium supplementation can help in alleviating these issues in ovariectomized and aged female mice—modeling the postmenopausal state.

We administered magnesium-L-threonate to these mice to assess its effects on pain sensitivity, memory function, and emotional behavior through behavioral tests. We found that this treatment not only prevented but also reversed many of the disturbances associated with aging and menopause.

Additionally, we noted significant changes at the molecular level, such as increased levels of inflammatory markers in the brain and spinal cord of untreated mice, which were significantly normalized with magnesium treatment. Notably, low magnesium levels in various body fluids were also addressed by this supplementation, suggesting its potential as a therapeutic approach for menopause-related disorders.

In summary, while estrogen loss during menopause leads to neuroinflammation and related health issues, magnesium supplementation presents a promising option to support postmenopausal health.

This is the second one I've purchased. It contains a substantial amount of magnesium, which allows me to use it with confidence. I bought it again as my child often experiences muscle pain from club activities, and I utilise it to alleviate that, while I personally rely on it for relief from joint pain related to menopause. On days I skip using it, I notice a difference in my body the following morning. There’s no scent, so I add aloe oil to it. Initially, I tried a different magnesium flake, but I believe this product offers the best value for money. I will definitely repurchase when I run out.

We evaluated how magnesium pidolate impacts primary dysmenorrhea in 30 young women. Over six menstrual cycles, we tracked their pain levels using a visual scale. Initially, no treatment was given, and subsequently, magnesium was administered just before menstruation.

The first day of menstrual pain showed a notable decrease with magnesium treatment, especially from the first to the sixth cycle. While there were some improvements on days two and three, those weren't statistically significant. Importantly, no side effects were reported, suggesting magnesium can be a reliable option for managing menstrual pain.

I'm taking a bath with a cap based on your reviews. It was so cold that I couldn't sleep without adding hot water, but now my legs don't get cold. Additionally, my family has noted that the pain in my shoulders and lower back has eased. I realise that magnesium should be absorbed through the skin.
