What can you say about something as basic as vitamins? Well, several things. Most Vitamin D supplements that I found were 2000 IU or more, while the US RDA is 400-800 IU, though some studies suggest a higher amount. I want enough that my doctor isn't concerned, but not too much, as there is also a connection between Vitamin D and kidney stones, so this was the right answer. Remember that sometimes more isn't better--you want the amount that is right for you. I've been pleased with the bottle that this uses. It has a nice pop-open top, with is incredibly simple and fast. If you have any humidity at all, the caplets will stick together, but a good tap of the bottle will loosen some, so that has never been a problem (that's an issue with any softgel capsule)

Excellent & a great price

I use Vitamin D daily, not only for extra Vitamin D & all its benefits such as increased energy, etc but also to help with my joint pain. My doctor prescribed it for me about 5 years ago & it definitely makes a difference. I switched to an over the counter product once my insurance company decided to no longer pay for it. I've used many different varieties to find something as good as the prescription. This is a good Vitamin D product. It does everything the prescription Vitamin D does & you can't beat the price. I've seen it in health food stores for 2-3 times the price so I was very happy to find it here at such a great price. I will continue to use this item & this company for other vitamins here on Amazon

Blood test shows slight improvement after taking this

I always wonder about vitamin reviews- How do people know the vitamins are working? Well, I started taking this because my blood test showed I was low at 20.1 ng/mL. After taking this 10,000 IU for a 30 days, I took another blood test and found my levels had risen to 23.8 ng/mL, which is still below what is recommended, but it did go up slightly. The moral of the story for me seems to be that 10,000 IU is just not enough. Also, I've gotten more sun in the last couple of weeks than I did before my first test, so this is not completely free of other factors, but it's as close as I can get to becoming informed about it

Excellent product

I am low in Calcium and along with Calcium tablets my doctor wrote me a monthly prescription for exactly this dose of vitamin D3. It got pricey paying my copay each month and then I found these Sundown Naturals Vitamin D3 1000 IU, 400 Softgels. How perfect for me. For a minimal price I get over a years worth. I take one per day. The softgels are very small thus very easy to take. Also often with softgels I find however I store them they stick together in the bottle and these do not. Great price and product. Highly recommend

Horrific smell, can't take without gagging

Beware - these let out a powerful odor. The smell was so awful, couldn't even take them without gagging. Boyfriend tried them too and neither of us could stomach the stench. Other reviewers have mentioned a bad taste when you burp after taking them - if the taste is ANYTHING like that smell, there is no way I'm putting these in my body. I've had no issues with other vitamin D gel cap supplements. They were also all slimed together in one clump despite being delivered in the cold & being safety sealed. Even worse, these are not eligible for return even a few days later, so total waste of money. Cannot say it enough - HARD PASS from me. Nasty stuff

One of the best (and most affordable) D3 supplements on the market!

One of the BEST D3 supplements you can buy at ANY price. I did tons of research before buying this product. I wanted a D3 supplement that had a high absorption rate, so I could better judge how much was actually getting delivered into my system. The average human body can only process 1000iu of vitamin D in a day. This delivers about a 60% absorption rate, if taken right. So by taking 2 per day, I get just over the 1000iu that I was shooting for. This is the "budget priced" supplement you see in most drug stores, but it's actually very high quality! And on the Labdoor reviews (the best site on the internet for reviewing vitamins and supplements), it ranked among the highest in quality and value. I'm on my 2nd bottle and can tell a big noticeable difference in several areas of my body and well-being since taking these! Will buy again, for sure

Worth a try

It seems to be helping my energy levels. Took several weeks to see a difference but worth the wait. Easy to swallow and good price. I already take a multivitamin with some Vitamin D so I like that this is not 5000 IUs

Buyer Beware

Please note: The picture of the Vitamin D3 shows 2000IU but the product you are actually purchasing is only 1000IU. It's still a good price. Just remember to read the description. That is the one step I forgot in all the research I was doing before purchasing this product. I had looked at so many reviews for other products that I forgot to compare the picture with the description

Doctor very please. Me too!

In 2016 I suffered a stroke. The doctor discovered my system was completely depleted of this vitamin, and actually wrote a prescription for vitamin D3. Instead of paying a prescription price, I purchased the Sundown D3 here through Amazon. I've been taking it a number of years now. My doctor is thrilled that my system registers a normal level of D3. Sundown is a great company and they produce a great product. Easy to take, doesn't upset my stomach, and economical. Thank you Sundown

Great vitamin! My doctor said my body needed vitamin D. So I ordered it. It was at my home very quickly. By the second day. I felt so much better. Note: if you feel more pain from your arthritis. Call you your doctor. It maybe to strong. But this was great
