Great replacement for Emergen-C (and why I wanted one)

In case you didn't know, Alacer sold out to Pfizer, who now puts aspartame in Emergen-C. This isn't the place for a debate on whether, in fact, aspartame is toxic and kills brain cells. I'm convinced, so I decided to look for an alternative product, and I tried a number of them. I found the taste of this brand the most like Emergen-C (and the most pleasant to me), with the same basic pre-Pfizer ingredients (plus an additional 200 mg of C), at a decent price

For Me, It's A Lifesaver

I tried this product in the hopes that it would help my body better absorb the water I drink. It's better than I had hoped for, and it actually tastes good too! For the last several years, I've been trying to find an effective electrolyte/vitamin C product. I've tried every mix and supplement I could find, ranging from the cheap to the very expensive, but none of them worked (a few of them would have a slight effect for 2 weeks, but then stop working). I've always had severely dry skin, despite having a very clean vegan diet, and everything I drink tends to rush through my system without actually hydrating me. It was typical for me to wake up 3 times a night just to use the bathroom, each time also feeling very thirsty. My diet is naturally low in sodium, and further reducing my sodium intake had no effect other than making me crave salt. In October of 2013, I saw this product on the shelf of my local Whole Foods and decided to try it. I was immediately impressed with the taste - it's satisfyingly tart and sweet. Mind you, I put 1 packet in 16-20oz of water, not the 6-8oz recommended (I find it just as effective, and 1 packet per cup of water is just too strong of a flavor for me). During the rest of that day, I noticed I didn't feel as thirsty as I usually do, and didn't have to run to the bathroom every 2 hours. I continued to use it, adding a packet to my water bottle every time I filled it up. In addition to fewer bathroom visits, I also noticed some other very positive effects: - I could finally exercise outside in the sun without getting a headache. Before discovering the Trace Minerals electrolyte drink mix, I would get horrible headaches after spending more than 30 minutes walking or running in the sun. Nothing would get rid of them, and I'd just have to wait for them to fade away on their own. Now, I drink some before my run and add it to the water I drink during my run. I haven't gotten a headache since. - My skin is much smoother and looks better. The last time my mom saw me, she exclaimed "Your skin looks AMAZING!" The only change I had made since our previous visit was drinking the Trace Minerals mix regularly. - I have less of a sweet tooth, and I don't crave salt anymore. Sometimes when I want something sweet after a meal, just drinking some water with the electrolyte mix in it will satisfy my craving. That's helped me a lot as I try to lose a couple vanity pounds. Also, I've always craved salt. Although my diet is low sodium, I would sprinkle RealSalt on every meal I had. I felt like I couldn't get enough salt. However, after drinking the electrolyte mix my cravings have greatly reduced. Now I add very little, if any, salt to my food and I don't constantly crave it. - In addition to looking better, my skin is much more hydrated. I used to have to apply lotion after every shower, and to my hands every time after washing them. Otherwise, my hands would feel horribly dry, and the skin on my arms and legs would feel so dry it would itch. I had to have a little bottle of lotion in every purse and backpack I own, even during the summer. Since using the electrolyte mix, I almost never use lotion. My skin never feels dry/itchy anymore and I only have to apply lotion to my hands a couple of times a month during the cold months. Overall, this product has become a lifesaver for me. I'm incredibly impressed with it, and I'll continue to take it every day

Helps a lot in the carb withdrawal stage of changing the way I eat!

I am in the midst of adjusting to burning fats instead of carbs for energy. It has been brutal on some days. However, this has helped a lot. I can feel an immediate energy from it. Now I'm not talking run around the house type energy. But it just lifts me up and also clears out the brain fog if it's present too. Oh! And it's actually quite pleasant to take. If I'm desparate I put it in a little water and drink it down. If I have more time I put it in ice water and enjoy it as a drink. I have the orange flavor. I especially appreciate the reasonable pricing

Have been using this product for ten years

When my grandson was born, ten years ago, I began experience terrible night leg cramps. I had had them previously off and on, but not as severe or long lasting as the new symptoms. They would wake me out of a sound sleep numerous times a night. On a trip to a local health food store I asked the proprietor what would help with leg cramps. He pointed to the Trace Mineral's Power Pak. I take one pack each morning as my breakfast "juice" ( the taste reminds me of Tang for those of you old enough to remember it). Well, in the past ten years I have had nightly leg cramps only on one or two occasions. Hope it works for my fellow sufferers as well as it has for me

Tastes Great. No Artificial Sweeteners which is Great !! Better than Emergen-C

Tastes great and works great. Powder dissolves fairly well. No chalky taste. I love that it does NOT contain any artificial sweeteners which are toxins. They kept it pure and natural. This product is way better than Emergen-C

Not bad at all

I was looking for an electrolyte powder to replace the expensive pedialyte ones I get when I need to hydrate. These are great because of the cost and the amount of vitamins you get from one pack. It's like an airborne and a pedialyte in one. I take it whenever I'm feeling tired, hungover, or trying to protect myself from getting sick and I think it definitely works and I feel a lot better right after. The flavor isn't bad at all, they're not as tasty as pedialyte but they're not as sour/tarte as some of the airborne flavors out there. I got the raspberry and I'm quite pleased

Good product for Vitamin C and Electrolytes

This product was recommended to me when I was going through chemo and I needed immune support and more electrolytes. I also wanted lower sugar then other products offered. I really like the orange flavor and have continued to use this product even after chemo

Great except for one ingredient : /

I got this mostly for the trace minerals I believe we need & I believe is missing in a lot of diets for various reasons. Regarding the product: The organic ingredients were a nice bonus, the taste is great, the sugar content is low enough, …most of the vitamins & minerals looked like the perfect mixture for what it was as supposed to do, however, I was surprised to see the ingredients had Cyanocobalamin B12 (synthetic) & not Methylcobalamin B12 (natural). Since it's a small dose of B12 Cyano-I'm not too worried. Also, I'm aware some studies suggest that your body may absorb cyanocobalamin slightly better than methylcobalamin… & if your goal was meant to quickly replenish your body after a workout I suppose this possibly may be a better version of B12 to ingest. Again, it's such a small dose per packet, I won't worry too much about it. This is just my POV. I am NOT a doctor. I'm just a consumer who researches vitamins, minerals, herbs, nootropics, etc

A must for Sports in the Florida heat

The first time I used this product was 2 hours into a tennis match last July, in the Florida sun. I was feeling weak and almost sick. My partner poured a packet into my bottle of water and told me to drink as much as I could. With in 20 minute I was a new person. Ever since then I carry it in my tennis bag and drink it when ever its really hot out or I'm playing for more then 90 min. Its a life saver

Great product

After using Emergen C sport mix for many years I was sad to find out that the company had been sold and the product was no longer available. After reading reviews I saw that people were recommending this product. My husband works in a factory and during the summer months he gets very dehydrated and needs to replace but doesn't want those sugary drinks. He has used this product now over the past week and says that it works even better than the Emergen C sports mix. So I highly recommend this for anyone working outdoors in the summer or just exercising alot
