Meriva formulation the BEST for my knee issues in reducing pain

I'd been buying tumeric with bio perine for years and hadn't noticed it did anything for my joint pain. I thought perhaps I hadn't taken enough or something and was hoping it was still benefiting me in ways I couldn't notice. When ready for a replacement I did a little research on a site that wasn't selling anything and read about the types of tumeric/curcumin products and I determined based on my needs that I was buying the wrong formulation, that I needed a Meriva formulation. Within 3 days I noticed beyond a shadow of a doubt that my pain was significantly reduced. I still need a knee replacement some day soon, probably, but this will buy me time. But now my knees don't hurt when I'm lying down. They used to keep me awake at night and keep me from falling asleep. A sheet lying across my knees was bothersome. Now the pain is significantly reduced whatever I'm doing. I'm just finishing my first bottle, dosage twice a day, a.m. and p.m. Getting a new bottle ordered today. I don't know this it the only brand to work, but this one is working for me and the price point is better than another brand that I would usually choose. Once in a while I even forget for a bit that I have knees issues. Happy Happy to not have it in my face 24/7

WONDERFUL CURCUMIN

My doctor (MD)suggested I use curcumins back in October 2010; he told me he uses curcumins to help with his own joint pain. Research showed me that unless curcumins have a binder, they pass quickly through the body and do little. I have used this particular brand for months now and no longer have joint pain. Further research has shown that curcumins are natural anti-inflamatories and are being used to treat cancer in humans and dogs. The only negative is that curcumins thin your blood (my normal blood pressure dropped from 117/70 to 100/60) so don't use wafrin with curcumins

It saved my eyes from diabetes

2021 update: I went in to see my eye doctor today. I have NO DIABETIC RETINOPATHY! NONE! My retinas are now clear and everything is healthy. I have diabetes, and I was having trouble with my eyes because of it. When I went in for an eye exam in mid 2016 they showed the damage that was starting and what the spots were in my vision (not horrible, but annoying and scary). Since then I had been worried about it and while following the right diet I still had them. Then one day when I was looking up something called berberine for blood sugar someone mentioned curcumin and that they took it together, so I looked that up too. Berberine did nothing for me... but curcumin... I've been taking it for about 8 months now and I've SEEN the changes in my vision. Literally, the spots have almost gone away. Fast forward to now, I went in for an eye exam today, a little over a year later from the first one and the eye doctor showed me last years scans compared to this year. He was expecting the damage to be worse or the same - most of it was GONE. He told me to keep doing what I was doing because it was working and it should clear up. That was music to my ears and a true testament to this product. I also chose Doctor's Best because they put the Meriva with it and I like their 5HTP blend which helped/helps when I get anxious. 5 stars I would recommend this to anyone to try to help save your eyes from diabetic damage done to them. Yes, I eat the right way because no one wants to go blind from diabetes, but I will continue to take this until my eyes are good and my diabetes under control. (I'm not on any medication for it either)

The color is NOTHING like it should be.see UPDATE!

If you compare the color of these with source naturals or Now foods meriva these are barely yellow compared to bright orange of the other two brands that I have used. I cannot make sense of it , I have emailed the company for an explanation but have not heard back. I will update if they can give a plausible reason for the color difference. By the way, the taste is totally different , I always open the capsules so I get to swish and swallow(for mouth and throat health).It has a MUCH more pronounced PC feel. I know, I have taken a lot of Lecithin granules over the years. I have returned this and if I do not get a good explanation I will not be buying from this company again.I wish I had kept the last cap from the source naturals that I just used, but I gave it to my wife before I thought about it. I am ordering from source naturals again and when I get it I will try to remember to take comparison pic and update here. UPDATE this is the reply I got from Drs Best... "Meriva® has always been a patented formulation of curcumin, a dietary phenolic, with soy lecithin (non-GMO). This is no longer the case as the soy has been replaced with sunflower lecithin. As you noticed, this change affected the appearance, causing the color to appear lighter. However, the change from soy to sunflower lecithin has no effect on the products potency or effectiveness. Thank you for contacting Doctor's Best. We appreciate your continued support" They really should let people know up front that there is such a radical change in taste and appearance! I ordered Meriva from Source Naturals,will see if their product has a much lighter color now and update. Received Meriva from Source Naturals which like Drs Best states has had the soy removed. Check out the color difference in the pics, this is supposed to be the SAME raw material from Indena. Something is fishy in my opinion. I cannot help but think it has been diluted. J.S. I developed horrible lower back pain a few months ago, which I attribute to poor posture, too much sitting, and lack of activity. It's the winter and I find myself sitting and lying down at home watching television. I also work in an office, so I sit often throughout the day. Lastly, I have poor posture and no lumbar support in any of my chairs at home or work. Normally, I exercise, hike, and get outdoors, but this winter has been especially bad in terms of sedentary behavior, and I'm paying the price. The pain at first was excruciating. I couldn't bend over really at all and had to put on pants and socks with a combination of squatting, sitting on the bed, holding on to things for support, etc. I was starting to feel light-headed. Sitting in a car for more than 5 minutes was agonizing. I haven't gone to the doctor at all because I'm stupid, I guess, but my self-diagnosis was a nerve issue, as my legs were feeling weak and my feet were tingly. I've made a conscious decision to move more throughout the day (using a FitBit to track this), I roll up blankets or use pillows for lumbar support, I stretch more, and I started taking these Curcumin pills, at the recommendation of someone I know, as well as online suggestions. Between all of these things, my back pain is finally resolving, about 2-3 months later. It's not totally gone and for some reason sitting in the car is a particular trigger for it, but it's lessened to the point that I can bend over without bending my knees and I don't have the chronic spasms and tingling sensations. It's hard for me to attribute the improvement to these pills as I have made multiple changes, but I can say the following: since taking the pills for about two weeks, I've noticed a sudden decrease in back pain that occurred much quicker than prior weeks of moving, stretching, etc. It may be placebo, it may be something else altogether, but I'm going to stick with these for now. I know this isn't a scientific review, but this is a "real" situation that other people may be facing. Be smarter than me and consult with your doctor before anything

Better cost/benefit ratio than Longvida / Curcubrain.

I used to take Curcubrain by NOW (Longvida Curcumin), which has research supporting brain health. Meriva doesn't have the studies related to brain health that Longvida does, but most people agree that this should be relatively comparable. Since the price is lower, even at double the dosage of Longvida, I decided to switch to this. I especially like taking this on days that I haven't slept well, since it has been shown to â€" and I can attest to â€" it helping the brain during sleep deprived states. It's not remarkable, but probably improves my subjective mental state (the "pain" of feeling unrested) by 10-25% on those days

Not for me.

Didn't work for me. I give 3 stars because the product was fresh and the label was informative. I had previously used NOW meriva phytosome curcumin capsules and thought they helped a bit with painful joints. So when I saw the Doctor's Best at a lower price I figured I would try it. I know these supplements are not regulated but it seemed to be a reputable brand and similar formulation. I took the same dose at the same time points during my day, but found the joint pain building again. I switched back to NOW and am once again having less pain. Doctor's Best may work just fine for someone else, but I'll pay more for the other brand

I use curcumin as a natural anti-inflamatory to help manage the pain from my osteo arthritis in my foot. This keeps me moving and will help me delay a more serious, surgical solution. Edit 6/30/2016: My latest bottle was much light orange pills than in the past. I emailed the company to I sew if this was normal. This is the response I received. Great follow up by Dr's Best! Meniscus improvement ……….

Doctor X Rayed my knee meniscus which was worn down to a thin state after many years of use and abuse, causing me pain from the two bones nearly rubbing together. . All he could do was offer me a cortisone shot and advised me going to the gym to do leg strength excersizes…. I refused the shot (shot would sugar coat the problem) and did not go to the gym. INSTEAD, I tried this and youtheory Collagen Advanced Formula 1, 2 and 3 which is available here and cheaper at Costco. PAIN SOON GONE! Seems the Doctor was dis appointing since he was NOT a "nutritionally informed" doctor and these two supplements were not in his studies, discipline, etc. Also, I guess many doctors are afraid to mention things not documented because they don't want to get sued. I was told the meniscus benefits from collagen 2 and this product is a no brainer for knee pain as well. Consider this combination. This combo may have to be taken for an extended period to build the meniscus back up and for on going maintenance

Pain free!

I started taking this for severe pain in my knee and hands and its been more effective for me than any pain meds I've ever taken. I take 4-6 caps/day on the advise of my healthcare provider. He informed me that it was safe, according to studies, to take up to 10/day. It took about 2-3 weeks of use for the pain to subside but I am now completely pain free. I have been taking this for about 2 years and have it on autoship. I will never be without it! I have tried other brands, high quality brands, and none worked as well as this one. The color is lighter than a couple of other brands I have tried but I found this one to be much more effective than even other brands with Meriva
