When people talk about controlling their cholesterol they are usually talking about the "bad" cholesterol. For me, I actually have the opposite problem. My "bad" cholesterol numbers are good but my "good" cholesterol numbers are bad/abnormally low. I already have a pretty good diet and I have exercised regularly my whole life. Doctor said I should either eat more fish (yuck!) or try fish oil supplement. Krill oil is supposed to be the best and quickly absorbed by the body so I gave this a try. I have taken it religiously as directed for 6 months. I just had a blood test and the results are not good. The 4 previous years my total cholesterol numbers ranged from 128-137, my LDL (bad cholesterol) numbers ranged from 76-86 (nice, right?) and my HDL (good cholesterol) numbers ranged from 35-38. The healthy/normal range for HDL should be over 40. Now after 6 months of taking this product my total cholesterol is 147 (15 POINTS HIGHER THAN LAST YEAR...NOT GOOD), LDL is 97 (16 POINTS HIGHER THAN LAST YEAR...NOT GOOD), and HDL is 37 (the same exact number it was last year...again not good). So to summarize, this product only made my "bad" cholesterol numbers worse and didn't change my "good" cholesterol numbers at all. I don't know...everybody's different and maybe this worked for some, but for me there's no denying that this actually had the opposite effect it was supposed to have so I won't be taking this anymore
