Do NOT take if you are acne-prone. Contains high levels of vitamin B12.
I changed my review from 5 stars to 3 stars. I left my old review below my new comments. Here is why. Floradix contains large amounts of vitamin b12, which studies have shown can worsen acne in acne-prone people. Within a week or two of taking Floradix, I started to break out on my temples. The breakout eventually spread to my entire forehead, and I NEVER get acne on my forehead, it usually sticks to my chin. It was so bad one night I sat in the toilet crying, wondering why my usual acne care routine wasn't working and it only seemed to get worse and worse. I stopped taking Floradix, switched to Gaia Plant Force liquor iron, and within two weeks my breakout started to clear. It's almost gone now. DO NOT take Floradix if you are acne prone. ***Old review below. I've kept this because Floradix really did help me at first*** I'm a 26 year old female, very active and athletic. I do aerial silks, body weight training, and I go for runs on the treadmill at the gym. I first realized I needed this when I went to try and donate blood and my hemoglobin was barely toeing the line of "normal". I eat a pretty good diet rich in protein and iron so I was pretty confused as to why my hemoglobin was so low, and it hadn't been in the past. I also don't get periods, so I was expecting my iron to be at least normal. However, in the last year I've *really* upped my athletic training. I decided to give this stuff a shot after a recommendation from my trainer. When I go for runs, for about 20-25 min I'll run around 5mph and within 5-10 minutes I'd get winded and feel like crap but I'd still push through. A few weeks after taking this, I can easily run 5.5, even 6mph and I'm barely breaking a sweat!! I've always had trouble with long-distance running, it always made me feel like absolute crap, but now I love running. This stuff is magical. One weird side effect is that it turned my pee bright neon yellow. But I read that that is a sign of excess riboflavin, which this contains 210% of your RDA per serving, however I'm not too concerned about this. Another thing I don't like is the taste. Some people said it's like a Flintstone vitamin or "not that bad", I personally think it's like someone juiced a rusty statue and served that to me in a cup. But I just mix it with orange juice and I can't even taste it. Great to have with breakfast!
