Amazing! My father's Mild Cognitive Impairment has progressed to severe dementia over five years of ineffective medication. We investigated the potential heart-protective qualities of pyrroloquinoline quinone (PQQ) in rat models of heart attack. In our experiments, PQQ was given before or during reperfusion after restricted blood flow to the heart, and we observed a notable reduction in infarct size.
Not only did PQQ lower the size of heart damage, but it also improved heart function and reduced harmful episodes of arrhythmia. In fact, the benefits increased with dosage, suggesting PQQ could be a significant ally in heart protection following a heart attack.
