Read More...I admit, I bought this on a whim because I love black licorice, and thought it was amusing to have a toothpaste in this flavor. However, after using this twice daily for a few days, I am impressed. It's a thicker paste, and I only need a little bit. It has a bit of a grit feel to it (not unpleasantly so, but it reminds me of pepsodent tooth powder), and the licorice is very mild indeed. Ten minutes after brushing, I don't notice it at all. I've been using a “3D whitening gel” for a couple of years and have been irritated by how furry my teeth felt after brushing and flossing. The Marvis toothpaste left my teeth feeling like I had just had them cleaned at the dentist office, and I'm not scraping as much plaque off of them with my floss picks. I will be ordering this again
Read More...Has a really nice, minty licorice flavor that's not overpowering or gross. I'm not a licorice guy. Sure, I can fathom the idea of happily drowning in a sazerac, but I never was a licorice eating person. This stuff is really good. It's expensive. I can't say whether it's "worth it" or not. That's up to you to decide. It doesn't last longer or clean your teeth better than that boring Aim or Crest you have laying around with crust all over the top of it. But if you appreciate the finer things in life, and quality, you'll probably like having this stuff instead. How often do you need a new tube of toothpaste? Is the extra 6 or 7 dollars going to be a budget buster for you? You spend more than that on frappucinos in a week. It also looks cool sitting on your lav, so there's that. And the black goes with everything
Read More...Oh my goodness....this Marvis Licorice toothpaste is fantastic! I've used the Marvis ginger mint (clean with a hint of spice), Jasmin mint (pleasant and mild, but reminds me of licking a bar of floral soap and then brushing it away with mint....so Far it is my least favorite) and now the licorice flavor, which the absolute best! This has such a delightfully clean licorice scent, and has a lovely not overwhelming flavor. The thing with Marvis is that the pastes are not super strong, but are flavored so nicely. It foams well and really gets your teeth nice and sparkling! This is an absolute treat for a mere $10.50 and the paste goes very far (i justify it by eliminating 1 pricey coffee drink a month...super easy!) One tube will last at least 2 months
Read More...I absolutely cannot believe that I paid this much for a tube of toothpaste. A tube less than 4 ounces to be specific. However, I have to admit as silly as it sounds, I actually enjoy brushing my teeth in the morning. It tastes like an anissette cookie or fennel cookie. The downside to this toothpaste is there is no flouride in it. So while this will clean the plaque off your teeth and make your breath fresher, it won't make them stronger or less cavity prone. In fact, when I showed it to my dentist he told me not to use it. However, we agreed that if I swapped it with my normal flouride filled toothpaste every now and again and used flouride based mouthwash at night, he wouldn't wrestle it away from me. The first time I used it was at a 5 star hotel in London where it was provided in its mint flavor in the bathroom dental kit. I had to buy it after that and when I saw all the flavors they had, I forgot about the price and clicked order. Actually, Amazon was much cheaper than most stores in NYC that sell this. Bonus ... the tube looks so classy on my sink and now my toothpaste is Made in Italy, just like my suits
Read More...My favorite toothpaste. I sort of came to hate the flavor of mint, so toothpaste became a real challenge. This changed everything. I love licorice flavor, so this was a great option. The flavor is not to strong, so its not overpowering right before bed, but it covers the backend of mint nicely. also cleans my teeth pretty well also
Read More...Just regret that they don't use fluoride inside their toothpaste. It does taste good, but every scientific studies say that fluoride is now safe and needs to be in the toothpaste. Everything is perfect, but just missing this
Read More...first off, let me say I used to love the minty fresh 'burn' of typical mint toothpaste. but after trying Marvis a few years back, it has come to grow on me over time. with the mild flavor, I am able to really massage my teeth and gums for a longer time than with the mint stuff that literally feels like its burning my tongue. on occasion I'll put out the ol' minty burn stuff for old time sake, but my new everyday Italian lover is Marvis.. ;) it's all about the licorice mouth massage and the health of not only my teeth, but of my mouth and gums. I'm so fresh. and I'm so very clean clean. never turning back. thank you Italy
Read More...I like licorice but hate licorice flavored things, so I expected to hate this toothpaste. However, I was pleasantly surprised. I bought it because I want to try all the Marvis flavors, even ones I don't think I'd like, and I was glad to taste this one. It was less licorice-y than I guessed, but instead put me in mind of a German pfeffernuse cookie, especially after my morning coffee. As for all Marvis toothpastes, my teeth feel cleaner at first than your average Crest, and stay clean all day! I run my tongue over my teeth on the way home from a full work day and they feel like they were just brushed!! I can't go back to the old brands, it's Marvis or nothing for me now. Bonus: since using Marvis I haven't had a cavity, and it's been a few years and I used to have them before. So yay
Read More...I was looking for a replacement for the Nature's Gate anise toothpaste. I was hoping this would be it, but I was disappointed. I love black licorice and anise flavored things, but this tastes more like bubblegum with a hint of licorice. I was hoping for more of a Dutch drop flavor. The texture of the toothpaste is nice and I will use it up, but I won't repurchase. At least not this flavor. Some others sound really tasty though
