Opt for the carton! The plastic bottles are terrible.

First off, I've tried many types of pre-made and powdered proteins. This (chocolate) is the best, imo. It tastes just like a chocolate shake. It does not have the chemical aftertaste some others have. I've been ordering these with a subscription for over a year. I also get the carton packaging, which I prefer. For some reason, my last shipment came in VERY annoying, and environmentally UNfriendly plastic bottles. I feel like I have to fight with the bottle just to get it open. The lid is wrapped with very tight plastic that's hard to unwrap. Once you do get past that annoyance, you'll find a VERY tightly attached foil lid under the plastic lid. I felt like I NEEDED a protein shake after all that work! Very annoying. I cancelled my recurring subscription purchase because of this. I was not happy that they switched the packaging on me unexpectedly. This product deserves 5 stars when packaged in the little, easy to open cartons. It deserves 2 stars when delivered in the horrible plastic bottles. Order the cardboard bottles and this product is great

I'm a long time consumer of Muscle Milk

I was disappointed that Muscle Milk went from cardboard to plastic. I also essentially canceled my Amazon subscription because it is so much cheaper at Walmart. If the price differential disappears I'll renew my subscription. I like the taste. And I like the taste better at room temperature than cold

Tastes great

I had gastric sleeve surgery, and need the protein. This has whey isolate, which fits the bill. It tastes great, better than most protein drinks. I like the plastic bottle, rather than the carton, the only issue I have is the lids are definitely not arthritis friendly, so I struggle getting them open sometimes, but that is a me problem, not a product issue

Great nutrition, only 1 gram sugar, and tasty.

I drink protein shakes as a regular part of my daily nutrition. I have used Muscle Milk shakes because I like the higher protein content and taste. This one has the highest protein content at 32 grams while others offer just 10 or 20 grams of protein per shake. Drinking one of them for breakfast gives me a good pick up and a fast way to get started along with a cup of coffee and a banana or apple. They have helped me to lose 20 pounds while keeping up nutritional levels

I love muscle milk

I have lost 100lbs drinking muscle milk morning, noon, and night. No joke. It's a great meal replacement and doesn't taste bad at all

Product is good. New packaging is horrible.

The product remains the same, high quality Muscle Milk as always. However. The new packaging is awful. First point, they went from a moderately green-friendly carton style packaging to single-use plastics. I mean, really??!? The new packaging suffers from deplorable quality assurance. The heat-shrunk wrapping rarely has the little perforations that make breaking into it easier; and when they are present they are inconsistently spaced. I find myself using my leatherman tool to get into them most often. Once you get past the shrink wrap there's the aluminum foil covering the top â€" I recognize that both of these protections are necessary, though I lament the reason why they're necessary â€" that uses what must be a cousin of gorilla glue. Once you get the foil off there's still glue left around the lip of the bottle. So, bottom line, I'm working out the best product to switch to, which really stinks because the product â€" again â€" is still great quality. But given all the efforts towards green friendly packaging this is a huge step backwards

Cheaper than stores, but harder to open

I order this through Amazon to save money, but the foil is hard to peel off - it's best to use with a straw and puncturing the foil

THE TASTE IS TOP NOTCH!

I've been an avid Muscle Milk drinker for well over 10 years and these 11oz RTD'S ARE GREAT. I use them as high protein snack or to add some extra protein to any meal, and as a post workout shake. The Knockout Chocolate in the Pro Series is easily my favorite, and as someone who is lactose intolerant the fact they filter out the lactose is absolutely perfect. I HIGHLY recommend this product if you are looking for a great tasting high protein shake

Only one complaint . . .

I love the taste, appreciate the protein, and happy the taste and protein are not filled with sugar My only complaint: the containers are hard to open with arthritic hands. One has to get the outside wrap off, which is like a Chapstick wrap AND THEN, one has to simple ply off the sealed with paste or heat lid from the container. It's a little like gilding the lily -- one safety wrap should do it

Great classic taste, horrible bottle.

This review is not about the product, but the packaging. I've been a huge fan of muscle milk for well over a decade. Tastes great, doesn't make me gassy or runny like all the other protein drinks I've had, I will never stop getting it. But please, for the love of God, re-design the bottle security. Amazon switched me over from cartons for some reason, I guess availability was an issue, and I was always kind-of annoyed that you can't really extract every last drop from the carton, but at least you could open them without surgery. The bottles.... Jeezlus might.... I've gotten to the point where I just yank twist the bottle to break the outer cap seal, and jab a knife in the second seal. Who'd they get to design this, the federal government? I drive for a living and you just can't open these while driving, not responsibly, anyway. It never tears along the dotted line. NEVER. please fix that garbage
