Promising spirulina compound for acneTransformation Chlorophyll a of to Chlorin e6 Derivatives and Several Applications.
We explored the potential of a spirulina-derived compound, chlorin e6 trimethylester, to treat cancer cells and acne. After synthesizing the compound, we tested its effectiveness against Hela cancer cells and the acne bacteria, Propionibacterium acnes. Our results showed that higher concentrations of the compound significantly reduced cell survival and colony formation in both cancer and acne bacteria. This suggests that chlorin e6 could serve as a promising treatment option for both conditions through photodynamic therapy.

The taste and smell of Spirulina is quite unpleasant, reminiscent of a musty swamp. After a week of drinking it, I developed acne. My doctor explained this was a detox process and advised me to continue. Initially, I experienced some nasal and ocular discomfort. However, acne disappeared almost immediately after continuing the supplement. I've noticed it’s easier to get up in the morning, and I wake up without problems at all.
