This Stuff Works!

I don't take time to write many reviews But felt I should write one for this. I'll let the picture speak for itself on my Lipid Panel. But I have a long history of heart disease in my family. So I have to watch these things. I turned 40 in January and I'm a female. I have been working out consistently since March of this year, 4-6 days a week strength training for 45 minutes and i have a dog I walks much as possible. I'm not at 100% clean eating. But I don't eat crap food 24/7 either. Back at the end of May my numbers were a little high. I said give me 3 months! Well4 months later and had my bloodwork checked yesterday and here are the results! I'm floored and excited! I can't say if I have any side effects as things people are complaining about I already deal with it. But whatever is totally worth it! Give it a turn

Terrific product

My doctor had been pushing lipitor and other cholestorol products for years which I refused because of the side effects. I told him I would try red rice yeast and if it didn't work I would considered his recommendations. I decided to try Now red rice yeast because of the reviews. I had an appointment to go back in six months for blood tests which I did. My doctor was floored by the results and wanted to know what I was using because it had outdone anything he had prescribed. I'm happy because I have not experienced any side effects and he's happy because I'm controlling my cholestorol. I can HIGHLY RECOMMEND Now Red Rice Yeast!!!! So far so good, Lowered Cholesterol…

I started taking this in early march in an attempt to lower my cholesterol. My numbers at this time were as follows: Total: 230 Triglycerides: 58 HDL: 55 VDL: 12 LDL: 163 Ratio: 3.0 On April 10th I had my retest and the results are as follows: Total: 198 Triglycerides: 37 HDL: 66 VLDL: 7 LDL: 125 Ratio: 1.9 As you can see in this brief period my bad cholesterol has been significantly reduced and I have had no side affects that I know of. My rise in HDL cholesterol could be contributed to the addition of ground chia seeds, pure cocoa powder and flax seed oil to my protein shakes, as well as taking Cod Liver Oil supplements, but either way this product had a huge part in helping my cholesterol levels! Other than this, my diet has been exactly the same, and I have always been an active person, running and lifting weights 3-4 times a week. I'll continue to take and monitor from now on!! I have been taking 2/day, one after breakfast/lunch and one after dinner. **UPDATE** July 9th Results Total: 193 Triglycerides: 56 HDL: 59 VLDL: 11 LDL: 123 Ratio: 2.1 It seems as though my levels are now remaining constant, with my LDL still a little high. I'll continue to monitor and update as necessary

Pitiful amount of active ingredients

I switched to NOW brand from Nature's Plus Extended Release in an attempt to save money. I've always considered NOW brand to be a decent one, but now I'm not so sure. I started using red yeast rice after my blood work showed high cholesterol and triglycerides last year in an attempt to avoid being on another prescription medication. After using the Nature's Plus brand for 6 months there was a marked decrease in the levels of both. I maintained the usage of that brand for a while but decided to see if I could save some money. Having used other NOW supplements in the past I decided to try their RYR product. Unfortunately, I was surprised to see that my cholesterol and triglyceride levels had risen sharply when my 6 month follow up rolled around. I recently subscribed to an online "Lab for Consumers" that tests supplements while researching another supplement and happened to review their tests of RYR products. As you can see below, the NOW product did not fare well against my original choice, as well as some of the other brands (won't post those in respect to the copyright owner.) I did not expect NOW brand to fail so miserably. Nature's Plus® Herbal Actives Red Yeast Rice (600 mg per tablet; 1 tablet, once daily) Mfd. by Natural Organics Laboratories, Inc. Ingredients 600 mg red yeast rice 10.2 mg total monacolins Extended release ï¿¼ï¿¼total monacolins (found 10.0 mg, as listed) 8.4 mg lovastatins 1.6 mg other monacolins Effective amount ï¿¼NOW® Red Yeast Rice (600 mg per veg capsule; 2 veg capsules, once to twice daily) Mfd. by NOW Foodsï¿¼ 1,200 to 2,400 mg organic red yeast rice 0.05 to 0.10 mg lovastatins 0.07 to 0.14 mg other monacolins Very small amount As you can see, the active ingredients in the NOW brand are terribly minute (Very small amount noted of active ingredients.) I'm switching bak immediately to the other brand and look forward to seeing if the results in November at my next checkup are favorable

Makes a big difference if you take the RED RICE YEAST and spit out the burger

Back in February I had my physical and shortly after that I got a call to come back in to discuss my blood test results. Nuts! My cholesterol has been rising for the last 2 years, from 205 total to 299 as of this last check. My doc said this is my body doing it and not my lifestyle, now since my 205 count 2 years ago I have stopped drinking and eating at the quick places in hopes of lowering the numbers and not take any meds. Well after the 299 in Feb I thought "screw it" bacon and Lipitor here I come. Of course my doctor is selling me these drugs like I'm buying a new car ( him a car). My wife and I decided to really put some effort into changing things one last time. I had heard about Red Rice Yeast with CQ-10 and found on the internet so many mixed things about all of it I really didn't know what to do. I ordered a bottle of this stuff and it said to take a hand full of these pills before each meal which seemed a little much ( 3-4 pills each meal is allot) so I started with taking 1 pill before dinnertime to see if I felt anything because it is a statin I'm told. Along with this I think the biggest change is my eating habits, red meat 2 times a week, usually a big ole steak and fish 3 times a week and chicken till I puke. Lunch is uneventful with lots of veg, fruits and nuts. I find myself eating more frequently and sometimes not content the way I would after a big burger. No more processed foods which has been a challenge and it does take a little more time and planning for meals, however I received a call from my doctor today. I had another recheck last week and he assured me that nothing I could do would lower my numbers enough to prevent medical intervention and I ought to just forgo the test and take Lipitor. As much as I pay for insurance I said " Do the test". He said in his 15 years he had only had 2 people lower the numbers all by themselves. SUCK IT DOC from 299 to 201 in 4 months! I am one happy MO FO. He was very impressed and asked for more details about this change, he poo poo'd Red Rice Yeast and that's fine. My weight is from 227 to 218 and blood pressure from 134 to 128. I can't say that the red rice yeast made such a dramatic change by itself but I can tell you that food is fuel and the better the fuel the better the engine runs. I believe a combination of both can yield very positive results, I also have much higher energy levels and sleep much better just to name a few noticeable differences. I will continue my course and wait to see were my numbers end up. I don't know the exact numbers of the test, but who cares. I don't need prescription drugs and that great, Thanks NO

Seems to be helping with cholesterol reduction

I had an annual cholesterol test, and it was high as it always is. The doctor warned me again that the meds I take will harm my liver, and liver test also was elevated. I had to find a way to lower the levels. I started taking both Chitosan and Red Yeast Rice. After 3 months, I had another blood test done. After I have been taking this combination for just 3 months, my cholesterol had dropped 40 points. I have had only one test since starting the supplements, so can not say for sure if it was a fluke, or if it truly does reduce the cholesterol level. I do believe it is helping. This was my second batch of supplements, and until I find that my blood test proves differently, I will continue to take this combination. Your results may differ from mine

Saved my Stomach

My cholesterol had been rising for years and not from my diet. Finally the doctor said it was time to bring it down as my numbers had gone from slightly elevated to high. I tried a statin that she prescribed and it made me vomit every time I took it. I told her I was going to try this and I was told it wouldn't work. I took 2 capsules a day for 3 months and when I was tested again, my numbers were normal!! The doctor said it must be the change in diet and exercise and I told her the only thing I changed was the statin I used. She still doesn't think it's the red yeast rice but I'm down to 1 capsule a day and my numbers are perfect and have been for over a year

It just works

I started my father on this about 4 months ago pairing it with 2 good doses of Konsyl a day. History of high cholesterol along with high blood pressure. Several cholesterol meds and a few different blood pressure meds all made him feel useless. Stuff was zapping the life out of him. I received a call the other day and he was telling me he hadn't felt this good in 5 years. He had also got his brother to start the same thing and his cholesterol had dropped by 100. I like this version because it is paired with the Coq10 and its about the best deal you can get. I just order my parents a two month supply at a time and have it shipped to them

This REALLY works!

I have had problems with high cholesterol for years. First I was taking Crestor, then Prevastatin. After a few years of these meds, my liver enzymes started elevating. Statins are not good for you. I heard about this product from my brother and decided to try it. At the beginning of September of 2012, I had a total cholesterol level of 273, with my triglycerides in the mid 300s. I was a heart attack waiting to happen and this was even taking the statins. I stopped taking the statins and started taking this product the last week of September. My doctor called this morning with my blood test results. Total cholesterol 142, Triglycerides 131, HDL 49 and LDL 71. This stuff really works

Super Product, A great merchant
