I recently had a musty smell coming from my air conditioner this year and after some light research found out that there was likely some algae or mold buildup in my drain pan. After opening the system to investigate...it was definitely the root cause. I figured at that point I might as well call a professional and just have them come out and clean everything up since I honestly had no clue what to do to remedy the situation. The tech who comes from an extremely reputable and well known company tossed 2 of these in the coil & drain pan for each ton of air conditioner (in my case 7 pills went into the system). They took a couple of days to really break down the issue and start moving it out of the system but it honestly helped more than I thought it would. What better review would you need than a professional telling you to buy these and toss them in the system instead of paying him $120! This is literally the same bottle he had in his truck. Now it is about 6 months later and I put a few in every 45 days when I replace the furnace filter and the musty smell is gone forever! The trick is to get at least 1 or 2 as FAR back on the coil as you can so you break down the algae in the back of the pan as well as the front (since the condensate water flows from back to front in most setups)
