Best decision I ever made when I bought this. (2 yr update)
Almost 2 yr update - no use making a new pic, they look the same. No fading, no cracking, lids still snapping closed nicely and sticking. I've added cayenne and turmeric supplements, both huge pills, had plenty of room for them. Still love this thing so much I slogged through all my reviews to find this and update ;) ------- 1 year update! Original review was 364 days ago, and they're still working excellently. Made a new pic, but it doesn't look any different than the others - not one bit of wear or tear, stretching, fading, nothing. I often bring a day with me in my purse, have had no escapees. Absolutely no issues with lids. Recently added a huge cayenne pill, still not even close to getting full. This has just completely 100% improved my medication experience both in taking and keeping it refilled, which I used to procrastinate a lot about. It's now fun and quick. ----- 4 month update: Absolutely no issues. Lids are still good as new, nothing's chipped, cracked, or broken. Nothing's worn out even a little bit. Even the sharpie labels I added are perfect. Still the best decision I ever made! -------------------------------------------- Original review: I got so sick of all the tiny, cheap ones, having to buy a new one every few months because snaps wore out, etc. Decided to splurge on this and hope it lasted longer. Well, I'm lovin this one. I've been using these for 3 weeks now. While there is one design flaw, in my opinion, overall these are fantastic. I took some extra pix to show...(edit: The pic order got messed up somehow, sorry!) Pic 1. This is, imo, the one design flaw. It's difficult to see the day stamp on the clear plastic. The green side more than the blue, but having no day/time indication on the lids is a flaw. Again, imo. Eventually I'd get used to one side being AM and other being PM, but there's really no need to. Sharpie to the rescue. (And given the rubber lids and design (you don't need to touch where the writing is), it's not going to wear off any time soon) Pic 2. Just a closeup so you can judge size better. Those are my glucoasmine/chondrointin pills, which we all know are pretty dern large. Pic 3. Again to help judge size - you can see the holders are quite large. Pic 4. That's the metal strip that works with the magnet in the base to hold them down. It's not the strongest magnet ever, but it's fine for normal bumping. Pic 5. I was trying to show depth but the rubber lids are pretty strong. I included this pic because strong lids are a plus, imo. There's no snap to wear out, the lids slip down over the case edge, and since it's stiff rubber, it's quite secure. (One of my previous types of pill holders was designed like this, where 1 lid covered 2 compartments and you could remove it entirely. On these, the middle part fits in very tightly and since you can load THROUGH the lid there's no need to remove the top entirely. Seems like that would help them last longer, so I haven't even tried to pull the middle out) Pic 6. This is so you get a good look at just how much room there is in the compartments. In the green AM side you can see the 2 large Gluc/Chon tabs and 1 large Metformin tab, and the blue PM side is 1 Metformin, 1 Gluc/Chon and a couple iron pills, krill oil, baby aspirin and another vitamin. PLENTY of room. Pic 7. Just again for size reference and a good view of the "bowl" of the lid and the openings you load thru. Pic 8. To show the little lip that helps keep them on the base. (and where the base magnet hides) So the drawback of not being able to see the day marks is easily remedied with a Sharpie. The size of these probably makes them a bit less portable. You'd have a big bump in your pocket I guess, but they'd be fine in a purse or bag. These lids will not come off by accident, but if you have other loose things in that bag, I suppose small things could work their way into the container thru the lid. BUT I highly doubt any pills would fall out. That rubber is nicely stiff and you do have to push a fair bit when loading pills, so I can't see a pill making it out by itself. One last small silly thing is, since the lids are rubber, your pills can bounce. You don't have to place them gently and carefully, but don't drop them on either ;) All in all I have absolutely no reservations in giving these an unqualified HOT DANG. Yes, these are relatively pricey, but given the quality and really good design, I feel strongly they're worth it. Very pleased with this purchase and I'm 100% convinced of the durability. (I'm good about going back and revising reviews if needed, so if I change my mind I'll post it
