I've used these drops (and their sister drops) for years in their preservative free vial form. The vials were great, easy to open, easy to close, easy to dispense just one drop, etc. No complaints. The company decided they would rather move to a single bottle that has a lot of drops in it. It's greener, creates less environmental waste, requires me to only carry one bottle instead of a box of a bunch of different vials, etc. It's a great idea in theory but a total failure in execution. First off, there are less drops in here than there were in the vials. So right off the bat you're paying more for less product. Second, by design - and yes, this design failure is clearly stated on the box & on the bottle - you only get to use half the drops that are here. That's because - and the instructions clearly tell you to do this - after you dispense a drop or two, you're supposed to flick away any excess from the top of the bottle dispensing tip. Presumably this is to keep the tip free and clear so as to not get gunked up or have a means for dirt or bacteria to sit there waiting until you put that next drop in your eye. The problem is you need to literally flick and throw away an entire drop. If you put a drop in one eye, you then flick away the next drop, meaning you've used two drops when you only needed one. If you put a drop in two eyes then flick away that remaining residue, you've used three drops when you only wanted to use two. You're literally throwing away at least half of the bottle each time you use it. By design, and clearly stated in the instructions. Another problem with the bottle is it's much harder to get the exact drop you need. Whereas the vials were all the same - each drop required the same amount of pressure each time you did it - with the bottle the less that's in there the more you need to squeeze. The problem is you're never quite sure exactly how much is left, so you're squeezing as best you can. Sometimes you get one drop out, many times you get two or three drops out. It's like a game of roulette, just spin the wheel and see what happens. This contributes to more wasted product and also drops on your face. I've complained to my eye doctor about this, and he says he hasn't had a single person who is happy with the new redesign. He also mentioned that older people with arthritis have an extremely hard time using the bottle, so if you have any mobility issues with your fingers or hands you may want to be aware. I don't have any mobility issues, but I'm mentioning it here in case you do. Overall I think this bottle is a good idea but extremely poorly executed. I wish I could still buy the vials if I wanted to, but it seems the company has entirely discontinued those, so we're stuck with these bottles. It's time for me to find an alternative, unfortunately. I recommend you do not buy this and instead also try something different
