Magnesium biotin enhances remyelination
Dose-Dependent Effect of a New Biotin Compound in Hippocampal Remyelination in Rats.
We investigated the potential benefits of magnesium in the form of a new compound, magnesium biotin (MgB), on remyelination in rats with induced demyelination. This is particularly relevant for conditions like multiple sclerosis (MS), where demyelination plays a critical role in disease progression. Through our study, we compared MgB's effects to those of standard biotin.
Our findings revealed that MgB significantly enhanced the remyelination process compared to biotin alone. Both treatments showed a dose-dependent improvement in spatial memory, indicating benefits for cognitive functions. Additionally, MgB treatment led to reduced levels of inflammatory proteins, an effect that was more pronounced at higher doses.
Notably, we discovered that MgB helped restore important proteins involved in neuronal function and transmission, such as Synapsin-1 and PSD-95, which are crucial for healthy brain functioning. We also observed an increase in beneficial brain-derived factors and a notable reduction in markers of reactive gliosis, which suggests a reduction in harmful inflammation.
The evidence indicates that combining magnesium with biotin could provide a more effective treatment strategy for promoting myelin repair in demyelination-driven conditions like MS. Our results support the potential for further research into using MgB in clinical settings for MS patients.

The migraine has resolved! I previously took magnesium aspartate, but due to its neurotoxic effects, I switched to magnesium malate, taking it several times a day. Alongside magnesium chloride baths, transdermal magnesium oil, and sublingual bitter, I suffered from severe migraines for years. Now, I no longer require painkillers. It turns out I was deficient in magnesium.

Folate treatment shows promise in MS
Efficacy and tolerability of folate-aminopterin therapy in a rat focal model of multiple sclerosis.
We explored the potential of a folate-aminopterin construct, known as EC2319, in treating multiple sclerosis (MS) using a focal model in rats. Our study involved 40 Lewis rats, with some receiving the treatment and others serving as controls. This design allowed us to assess how effectively EC2319 could reduce inflammation and lesion development associated with a chronic progressive form of MS.
Interestingly, we found that EC2319 was well tolerated by the rats and significantly reduced both inflammation and lesion development, indicating a promising therapeutic avenue for MS. In our investigations, we also used a specific imaging method (Ga-FOL) to assess the inflammatory lesions, enhancing our understanding of the treatment’s effects.
Furthermore, we examined postmortem brain samples from MS patients and discovered that they contain FR-β-positive cells in areas of chronically active plaques. This finding suggests that the approach we tested in rats may have relevance for human patients, opening doors for future research into targeted treatments for MS.

I have been taking B12 for six months and have noticed I am more balanced, less aggressive, less anxious, and much cheerier. I sleep better now, all thanks to B12, which strengthens the nervous system. It is vital for individuals with autoimmune diseases. I have multiple sclerosis and will need it for life! Cheers to Ayherb for this vitamin.

Eicosapentaenoic acid reduces MS symptoms
Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) induces peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors and ameliorates experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis.
We explored the therapeutic effects of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) in tackling multiple sclerosis through a study involving mice with experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE). The mice were given diets enriched with or without EPA. Remarkably, the mice that received the EPA-infused diet displayed significantly lower clinical scores compared to those that did not.
Furthermore, we observed that the production of inflammatory markers like IFN-γ and IL-17 was notably reduced in the EPA-treated mice. This reduction is particularly important, as these markers are associated with the progression of multiple sclerosis. Additionally, there was an enhancement in the expression levels of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors within the CD4T cells infiltrating the central nervous system.
These findings suggest that EPA could serve as a promising new approach to therapy for multiple sclerosis, showcasing its potential in reducing inflammation and improving clinical outcomes in those affected by this condition.

Excellent! DHA plays an important role in the omega-3 chain and aids in maintaining the myelin sheath, which is crucial for nerve impulse conduction. As a person with multiple sclerosis, preserving my myelin sheath is vital, and DHA is beneficial. NOW's DHA is cost-effective, offers a generous quantity for the price, and has good quality. The capsule size may be an issue for some, but it doesn't bother me. If you found my comment helpful, please give it a like.

With multiple sclerosis, myelin sheaths are destroyed, and lecithin serves as a building material for these membranes, helping to restore lost cells and prevent myelin destruction. It also acts as a hepatoprotector, restoring and protecting the liver. I felt the effects on my head after a week of taking it and am very satisfied with the product. I took two jars. If my review was helpful, please let me know, and your rating would be appreciated.

Lecithin has significantly improved my emotional and motor functions following nerve damage from multiple sclerosis. After five months of consistent use (two capsules daily), my emotional state has stabilised; I no longer easily become upset. It's also made rehabilitation more effective. Although I can't attribute all motor improvements solely to lecithin, it has undoubtedly aided my overall recovery process without side effects. I highly recommend it to anyone with MS.
