Calcium treatment shows promise
We explored the effectiveness of combining focused shock wave therapy and ultrasound-guided percutaneous irrigation for treating painful calcium deposits in the shoulder, known as calcific tendinopathy. Our study involved 229 patients suffering from prolonged shoulder pain, with an average age of 55 years and an average duration of symptoms lasting 30 months. The therapies were applied monthly, with ultrasound guidance playing a crucial role throughout the treatment process.

We focused on two main outcomes: how well the calcium deposits dissolved and the overall improvement in patients' shoulder function, measured by standardized clinical scores. We reported a high success rate in dissolving these deposits, particularly among patients in the "complete resorption" group, who showed significantly better results and required fewer treatment sessions.

Interestingly, the study highlighted the need for special attention to patients classified as type B in the Molé classification, who might present persistent issues despite treatment. This finding suggests that while calcium treatment can be effective, its success may vary based on specific patient characteristics.

Vitamin C

We explored the effect of vitamin C on tendon cell degeneration, aiming to find out if it could be an effective treatment for tendinitis. The study involved human-derived tendon cells exposed to oxidative stress, simulating the conditions of tendinopathy. By applying various doses of ascorbic acid, we observed a significant reduction in cell death and oxidative stress in the groups that received vitamin C treatment.

Interestingly, we noted that while both lower and higher vitamin C doses helped with cell survival, the higher dose of 30 mM proved especially effective. It not only preserved the cytoskeletal structure of the tendon cells but also inhibited the expression of a marker linked to aging and degeneration. This suggests that high-dose vitamin C could play a vital role in supporting tendon health and recovery from damage.

In summary, our findings indicate that high-dose vitamin C is a promising option for mitigating tendon cell degeneration. This could provide a new avenue for those suffering from tendinopathy, offering hope for recovery and improved tendon function.

Wonderful! Vitamin C with bioflavonoids for better absorption! A generous dosage of 1000 mg! It acts as an antioxidant, providing protection against free radicals, and supports collagen synthesis for critical tissues including blood vessels and tendons. It enhances the immune system's ability to combat inflammatory diseases, stimulates white blood cell production, and promotes quicker wound healing. Additionally, it aids iron absorption and supports cardiovascular health.

Eicosapentaenoic acid shows modest benefits
We conducted a multicenter clinical trial to investigate the effects of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) in managing rotator cuff related shoulder pain (RCRSP). The study involved 73 participants who were randomly assigned to either take nine EPA capsules each day or a matching placebo for eight weeks. Alongside this, everyone participated in an exercise and education program designed to support their recovery.

Our primary focus was to determine if EPA could improve shoulder function, measured by the Oxford Shoulder Score (OSS). We also looked at additional factors like pain and disability levels using other established assessments. While our findings indicated that supplementing with omega-3 PUFA, specifically EPA, may result in modest improvements in pain and disability, it’s essential to note that the benefits may also be influenced by the concurrent exercise and education program.

In summary, while the potential of EPA for treating shoulder pain shows promise, further research is needed to clarify its individual effectiveness apart from other treatment components.

My favourite is Omega-3, which is entirely natural. If the capsule is ruptured, a strong fishy smell is released. Omega delivers excellent results for the skin and is essential for athletes. PUFAs slow the degradation of collagen in articular cartilage, alleviate joint and ligament inflammation, and relieve pain. DHA and EPA enhance the elasticity of tendons, ligaments, and articular cartilage while improving intra-articular lubrication.

This has been a game-changer for my sleep quality. Since adding this to my routine, my sleep has become deeper and more restful, even better than melatonin for me. As a bodybuilder, joint health is vital, and this magnesium supplement has significantly helped. My elbow tendonitis disappeared in under three weeks, working better than any other mineral so far. The high absorption formula is impressive—I've felt the effects quickly, showing it's potent, especially compared to cheaper local options. It has also enhanced my cognitive function. Overall, it's an excellent supplement I highly recommend, having used it since 2021.

I purchased Doctor's Best High Absorption Magnesium (100mg) from Amazon previously and loved it. I found it on sale at iHerb and bought it again. This magnesium glycinate is affordable for the quality and effective in relieving my chronic muscle and tendon pain. Despite my sensitive stomach, it hasn't caused any issues. I will definitely buy it again in the future.

I have been using Doctor's Best MSM 1000mg for years, but I found the large bottles sometimes cumbersome. I switched to a different brand that uses the same ingredients (OptiMSM) but comes in veggie capsules, which I find easier to swallow. My main reason for taking MSM was to alleviate pain in my Achilles tendons, which had persisted for years. I was astonished by how effectively it worked. I also take it when I feel discomfort in my knees and lower back, and it indeed helps.

It worked all over! It's been three weeks since I started taking it, hoping it would help with stiff shoulders, tendonitis, skin quality, hay fever, and hair quality. Stiff shoulders are almost bother-free now, and while my tendonitis isn't cured, the pain is less than before. My skin texture has improved, and the lichen pilaris on my arms and buttocks is much smoother. In combination with mild medication, my hay fever symptoms are greatly reduced. My hair feels moist and heavy after shampooing. I plan to continue as everything has slowly improved since starting.

Complex N 7 is beneficial for Bursitis in the foot, an inflammation affecting the synovial bursa, specifically in the metatarsophalangeal joint, Achilles tendon, and beneath the calcaneus. Symptoms include pain and swelling due to factors such as microtrauma and excessive load. After continuous use, I found pain relief in my legs and disappearance of swelling. My discomfort after long walks has drastically improved, and I have even noticed that the clicking sound when walking has ceased! I will continue to use it alongside Solgar’s other joint support products.

I purchased this NAG for my knee, and despite some tummy issues with another product, this one has been fantastic. It works surprisingly quickly! Recently, I fell and sprained my ankle, but I was relieved to have already started taking this, knowing it would expedite my recovery. I had previously used this product successfully for my stomach, which is why I chose it for my knee and now my ankle.

Reducing stiffness, swelling, and pain in the joints has been remarkable. Preparations containing glucosamine are beneficial in preventing joint diseases and strengthening ligaments and tendons. It also enhances bone tissue and improves the quality of synovial fluid. I take it whenever my joints ache, and the discomfort usually resolves within a couple of days. I also consume glutamine and collagen, and perhaps it's the combination that works well for me.

L-lysine is an essential amino acid that the body cannot synthesise; it must be obtained from food and supplements. It has numerous biological effects, notably serving as a key component of proteins including collagen, which strengthens muscles, cartilage, ligaments, and tendons. By promoting calcium absorption, it might help prevent osteoporosis. Additionally, lysine is vital for the immune system and the production of metabolic hormones and enzymes. Its useful properties include: carnitine formation for hair and skin condition, collagen synthesis to prevent wrinkles, cholesterol reduction, and improved calcium absorption.

PROVEN EFFECTIVE FOR JOINTS, HAIR, SKIN AND NAILS I ordered this gelatin primarily for my joints and tendons, but I also hoped for luxurious hair and elastic skin as a bonus. I began with three capsules of gelatin per day, alongside Omega-3 and amla. After some time, I adjusted to two gelatin capsules, two Omega-3 capsules, and one tablet of ascorbic acid. The capsules are small, approximately 2 cm long and 0.5 cm wide, with no taste or smell, making them easy to swallow without requiring much water. I did not experience any aftertaste or belching. Shortly before starting the gelatin, I had cut my hair and was surprised to find it growing rapidly. The omega surely contributes, whilst my skin appears more elastic, with wrinkles less visible.

This product has been a tremendous find for my knee condition following tendon tears in both knees. After physiotherapy, my knees felt creaky and achy, but since using collagen type II, they feel almost back to normal. The glucosamine I was taking previously proved ineffective.
