Read More...I use magnesium flakes because I feel I've got low magnesium (I've been diagnosed with this in the past, but I'm unwilling to do the shots again). I make magnesium oil out of the flakes and water (a bit more water than flakes, to help prevent stinging), and I can "feel" it working not long after I apply it. The flakes must be kept dry, so I was pleased that the ones I received arrived in a strong plastic bag with not a hint of a hole in it. Now all I have to do is rub on the oil, and my energy level goes up so I can do whatever I want/need to do
Read More...I love this big 12-lb bag of magnesium flakes! I ordered these to have in addition to my hot, salt, detox baths. I've been through a lot the last several years, and I am making a big effort on ensuring I'm getting self care. Sometimes I will take important obligations off my plate in order to do things like this for myself because I'm a better human when I do. Single parent life is not the easiest, so I do these baths a couple times a week even if it's 90° outside! These are really neat looking. This was the first time I've seen magnesium in this form. Some pieces are smaller consistent to salt but flaky, and some are big, chunky flakes. They dissolve in the bath pretty quickly as well. I add these with sea salt and essential oil. Directions say to do this for at least 30 minutes, and that's about how long my baths are. They can be an hour If I'm childless, and I'll keep adding hot water. Magnesium can be taken in supplement form as well, but the best way to absorb it is through the skin like this. I also use a dry brush in the bath (well, I'll get it wet), and I'll exfoliate my skin especially my legs and feet which I know helps my body detox and absorb what's in the bath as well. I also recommend getting a shower filter if you have city water, since it's usually far more toxic than people realize. Many people are deficient in magnesium and have no idea. When you start adding it in and notice the change in your body it may be more apparent. When I first tried these flakes, I was extra tired after my bath but that happens to me when I use magnesium oil spray on my body before bed as it's very calming and puts me to sleep. I'm just so pleased about this product, and I'll definitely order again when I'm out. I used far more than the directions said, but I was just so excited to get this product! **Update** I never close the bag of this that I keep in the bathroom, and I noticed the past week moisture got in and the whole bag sort of formed one big, hard chunk. It's been really humid here. This doesn't bother me since it's going to melt right in the bath and I can break it up a bit, but I noticed it. It is a HUGE bag, but I use 3-4 cups at one time and I have a place to store it, so it is the best buy on flakes out there. The lower third of the bag has more crushed up flakes than the top, but that isn't significant for me because they all melt just fine....I will definitely buy these again when I run low
Read More...I wanted to write about how much I liked these baths salts, and how if you like them too much, it can be a major problem. I suffer from hyper-thyroidism and so I cannot have any iodine. Well if you take baths with this stuff, one spoonful is like 250mg iodine or enough to be in an iodine supplement. These salts contain not just magnesium, but a blend of minerals. So if you take a half cup of this and put it in your bath or 1/4 cup, then its probably something like 500mg iodine in the bath. Over time, this builds up in your body and can be extremely harmful to your thyroid. I already had iodine induced hyperthyroidism before using this product and so I basically have had 2 more years of iodine poisoning after using these salts. I loved these salts too much, I loved how they made my muscles feel good, I loved how they detoxed me, I loved how it made me tired, I loved everything about it. But too much of a good thing, can become a very bad toxic thing. I ended up having a horrible reaction to the salts recently and now my thyroid is completely haywire. 10 days no sleep in a row type of thing going nearly insane. I didn't use the salts in my bath for about a month, but it still was super bad, even doing a low amount. I learned the hard way that this stuff is poison to me

And I can't tell any difference between these flakes and the more expensive ones. So unless you LIKE paying more money, these are a no brainer
Read More...Therapeutic relief for sore muscles/joints post exercise or just when you want to relax. This is so easy...1/2-2/3 cup salts in a warm tub, soak for 10-20 minutes and you're done. I feel the difference into the next day and it's good for your skin too. I have also used the magnesium spray on targeted topical relief but the bath salts work better for me. You have to try it to believe it
