We examined how the KS6I1 probiotic impacts cholesterol levels in mice fed a high-cholesterol diet. Over six weeks, mice receiving KS6I1 showed significant reductions in LDL cholesterol and total cholesterol compared to those only on a high-cholesterol diet.

Notably, the KS6I1 group also increased the amount of cholesterol and bile acids in their feces, suggesting better cholesterol excretion. While the results are promising, indicating potential for KS6I1 as a cholesterol-lowering probiotic, further research is necessary to confirm these effects in humans.

Probiotics mitigate cholesterol issues
This study focused on the impact of a high-cholesterol diet on nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) in rabbits and investigated how the probiotic Lactobacillus acidophilus could help.

We observed that a high-cholesterol diet led to increased liver fat and several unhealthy markers, including elevated liver enzymes and cholesterol levels.

However, when probiotics were added to the diet, these negative effects were significantly reduced, restoring liver functions and overall health. This suggests that L. acidophilus offers protective benefits against NAFLD and improves lipid profiles.

Probiotics may help lower cholesterol
This study examined how certain probiotic strains might help lower cholesterol. We analyzed a mix of lactic acid bacteria, including Lactobacillus acidophilus, to see how they affect cholesterol metabolism.

The results were promising. Some strains significantly reduced cholesterol levels, triglycerides, and apolipoprotein B in tests. For instance, Lactobacillus acidophilus showed effective bile-salt hydrolase activity that helps break down bile acids.

However, while the findings are encouraging, it's essential to note that these probiotics are not a stand-alone solution for managing cholesterol.

Highly recommend! The 21st Century Acidophilus Probiotic Blend is top rated and has received positive reviews from my family. My experience began when my duodenal ulcer flared up in January 2020. I followed a gastroenterologist's regimen, which involved strong antibiotics and proton pump inhibitors, unfortunately killing off beneficial gut bacteria. Following this, I took the probiotic mix for three weeks, and by March 2020, my intestinal issues had vanished. Now, I take one capsule weekly for maintenance. I appreciate that they can be stored at room temperature and highly recommend them!

Superb yogurt effect

This probiotic is fantastic for making yogurt. One capsule yields three jars using my yogurt maker, producing excellent results. Additionally, it’s even more effective than a pricier probiotic I previously endorsed. My stomach cramps have vanished, and my acid reflux has improved significantly when using this in yogurt rather than as a capsule.

Postbiotics effectively reduce cholesterol
We conducted studies to see if yogurt enriched with postbiotics from Lactobacillus acidophilus could help lower cholesterol levels. Using Wistar rats, we compared their cholesterol levels after being fed either a normal or a high-cholesterol diet.

The results were promising, showing that rats who consumed the postbiotic yogurt had notable decreases in total cholesterol and harmful LDL levels. However, while the yogurt did demonstrate strong antibacterial and antioxidant properties, the main focus remained on its potential for managing cholesterol.

We explored the effects of Lactobacillus acidophilus and other strains from Tibetan kefir grains on high cholesterol. In a study involving rats, those treated with specific Lactobacillus strains showed a significant drop in total cholesterol, triglycerides, and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol compared to control rats.

Additionally, while some strains boosted high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, the overall impact indicates potential benefits of using these probiotics in diets aimed at managing cholesterol. The results highlight how these probiotics could be strategically used in future food products.

After months of using iHerb's leading probiotics with no improvement in my intestinal diarrhoea, I was astounded by this supplement. Probiotics may improve cholesterol levels
We examined how probiotics, particularly Lactobacillus acidophilus, affect cholesterol levels and overall metabolic health in hamsters fed a high-fat diet.

For six weeks, we observed significant improvements in lipid metabolism and changes in gut microbiota, pointing to a potential connection between gut health and cholesterol management.

While our findings are promising, indicating that probiotics can help modify cholesterol levels, it's important to note that results were primarily shown in animal models and more research is needed to confirm these effects in humans.
We examined the impact of probiotic supplementation on cholesterol levels through a thorough meta-analysis of randomized clinical trials.

The findings revealed that while probiotics led to reductions in total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol, there was no significant change in HDL cholesterol or triglycerides.

Importantly, longer probiotic use seemed to result in better outcomes, especially for those with mildly elevated cholesterol levels. However, the effects were more pronounced with the Lactobacillus acidophilus strain.

Overall, probiotic supplementation may assist in preventing high cholesterol and reducing cardiovascular risks.
