Biotin impacts abscess resolution
We explored the effects of biotin supplementation in a neonate with biotinidase deficiency who presented with severe symptoms. The case involved multiple abscesses, seizures, and septic arthritis, leading to concerns about primary immunodeficiency. After diagnosis, we initiated biotin treatment, which resulted in no further severe infections, seizures, or skin issues.

This highlights the importance of early detection and treatment of biotinidase deficiency and its relation to abscess formation.

Biotin improves infection imaging
We investigated how biotin-coated liposomes could improve imaging of abscesses caused by infections. Using rats, we compared biotinylated liposomes with regular ones and found that biotin didn't change their behavior in the body. Notably, when we injected avidin after the liposomes, imaging of infections improved significantly. This is promising for better diagnosing infections, especially in areas with strong blood flow. While we saw a five-fold increase in imaging clarity, there was no overall benefit on abscess healing or treatment response.

No more blisters

During seasonal changes or when my immune system is down, I used to develop small blisters on my fingertips and at the bases of my fingers. They didn't itch but eventually burst, leaving unsightly areas. This was quite bothersome. Since I started taking biotin, these blisters have vanished, which is a great relief. I take one small, tasteless pill each evening after dinner. While I don't feel it aids in greying hair, I would recommend this supplement to anyone dealing with skin issues.

Effective against blisters
1 people found this helpful
As it's a tablet, it can be split! The cost is fairly reasonable, and because it isn't a capsule, the cost-effectiveness improves when you divide the tablet. I took it to combat significant blisters, and I haven’t had them in years. They were only a problem when I would forget to take the supplement, but now I can forget about them completely. Additionally, the bumps on my nails have disappeared. It doesn’t seem to help with grey hair, though.

Blisters alleviated
I began taking biotin for palmoplantar pustulosis. I was frequently troubled by blisters on my palms with seasonal changes, but after starting this supplement, I no longer experience that problem. Now, I continue taking it for prevention while also hoping it benefits my grey hair.

Blister control
I purchased this to tackle blisters on my hands caused by detergents. Taking biotin has helped prevent these blisters. We regularly switch manufacturers, but I've found this one perfectly adequate. It’s odourless and small enough to swallow easily without any discomfort.

Reduced blisters
I've switched this product three times now since my previous biotin was discontinued. I appreciate that the tablets are small and easy to swallow. I take it with flaxseed oil and Miyarisan. My sweat blisters have declined, and I'm quite pleased with the reduction of skin issues. My hair and nails also seem to be growing faster and shinier. Unless any severe issue arises, I plan to continue with this regimen.
