Perfect for our needs
We don't usually take supplements. I don't like that supplements aren't well regulated, and, to me, it feels like flushing money down the toilet when we can do our best to eat right. However, the growing research that healthy levels of vitamin D may help people fight COVID-19 piqued my interest. With fall and winter coming up, I know we won't spend as much time outdoors, and our vitamin D levels will probably drop. I decided to bite the bullet and get these. I chose these because they didn't seem too high in vitamin levels. I have two elementary-aged children, and there are different recommendations for vitamin D levels that vary from 400 IUs a day up to 3,000 IUs a day! That's a huge range. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends 400 IUs for children. I heard the upper safety limit of what school aged children should take is around 3,000 IUs. Because vitamin D is fat soluble, you don't want to take too much, so I wanted to err on the side of caution. Ultimately, I felt comfortable with the 1,000 IUs for my elementary-aged children. They arrived, and I was pleasantly surprised with how good they tasted. Both the kids and I like them a lot. The kids liked them so much that I had to warn them not to eat more than the 1 I give them each day! The last thing I want is them getting into the medicine cabinet to eat a bunch of vitamins! Anyway, I was so happy with this purchase that I immediately set these to a monthly subscription. We'll continue taking one daily throughout the fall and winter
