I am NOT A DOCTOR: But I am a very experienced patient and wellness advocate, I have a medical condition that requires me taking high doses of Calcium. (doc recommended Citrical Plus) Magnesium is vital for proper absorption the problem with this is tablets are generally not very absorbable. Magnesium Chloride is the preferred form. This container will probably last me several years. 1 cup of flakes makes 2 full bottles. Making Mag oil is very easy. 1 part Ancient Minerals Flakes, 1 part pure water, warm and stir until dissolved and pour into an amber Glass spray bottle. You can add an essential oil such as Lavender to the mix once it is cooled in the spray bottle. Better than the pre-made spray

I have terrible muscle cramps that affect my torso and legs; I wake up screaming the pan is so sudden and so severe). My base diagnosis is fibromyalgia, and muscle cramping is just one of many symptoms I--and so many of us deal with). I purchased Magnesium Flakes after using the pre-made spray in the bottles for several cycles with EXCELLENT benefits for reducing my muscle spasms. (8 sprays on my legs twice a day--but after several months I was getting spasms again, and needed to increase number of sprays). I was getting excellent relief, but I was concerned about all those empty spray bottles. So I went looking and found these flakes from which I could make my own spray. I do a 2:1 solution of 2 cups flakes to and pour over 1 cup almost boiling water. I do this in a 4 cup glass measuring cup that I have reserved for this only. I stir to dissolve but am not too attentive. I have found that the crystals do dissolve in about 2- minutes to half an hour. Then I pour my solution into the now empty spray bottles. I was Amazed to realize that that ratio solution was better at keeping muscle spasms at bay than the strength in the pre-made bottle. Now it may or may not be the same strength, but for me I do notice a significant difference. And I like that I am not putting all those empty spray bottles into the trash. I have been doing this since about November, so about 6 weeks. And am just about 3/4 of the way through my first bottle. That amount made 4 eight ounce bottles worth with a little left over that I used the first night. So much cheaper overall as well. I will continue to use the flakes as long as they re available. I am more concerned about the bottle waste than the cost savings. Thank you for making this product available in flakes. All that being said, I have had no benefit from magnesium addition on my sleep. Also, whether pre-made or making it myself. the solution leaves a residue on my skin that makes it difficult for clothing to slide over. After a month or so my legs actually had a grey cast to them. NO amount of soap would wash it off and there was always a residue. MY SOLUTION? I found a skin exfoliating glove--kind of round and stretchy-- in the bath section of my local Walmart. I use regular bar soap that I work into a lather on the glove then scrub my legs with it. It takes a bit of work to scrub the residue off, and it never seems to come completely off, but I have no more grey cast to my skin. I do this about once a week when I shower (rarely have enough energy to shower more than once a week--maybe if I did there would be no residue at all...). happy New Year all...

Just letting ppl know how well this works..

Bought this after reading the reviews to see if it's as legit as people are claiming. I love epsom salt baths but somehow had never tried magnesium chloride bath salts, so it made sense to try. I'm a big believer in the power of a good bath, so tend to collect new oils and bath salts to keep me healthy & glowy. My top “seriously wow” / fairly life-changing products have long been 1. Vitamin E oil, (great for dry skin & hair- tho-it's often tough to find, I mean the kind without carrier oils added!) 2. Coconut oil is also the best to make my skin dewy and soft, ntm hair shiny 3. Tea Tree Oil (has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and antifungal properties, so adding a few drops to your bath will help keep colds, viruses & infections away, ntm your hair and skin will be healthierâ€"great for blemishes as well, just be cautious that if you don't dilute well w carrier oil or water it may sting! don't ingest or get in eyes!) 4. Epsom salts for detoxifying, though my fave bath salts have been Dead Sea salts (Ahava specifically has a great product that makes my skin glow, when you can find it for reasonable price) I've also recently added olive oil, grape seed oil (great to keep hair thick/ prevent hair loss! Just make sure to use cold pressed, extra Virgin, organic!) & apple cider vinegar on occasion. Those are just some quick tips for those who care- but this product more than any other I've used has helped with back pain and aches. I also make a magnesium oil like other reviews suggest and spray on pain sites when when I have back aches or feel icky. Both as an oil and in my bath it makes me very sleepy and relaxed right away, and I only use a handful or so. I make some of the magnesium oil for my stepdad who had knee surgery and he uses it often for pain, so I guess it works for tougher stuff as well. I'd assume any fairly potent magnesium chloride product will work, but the price for the big tub of it being $20 is v reasonable and I agree with most of the reviews here. I liked it so much I divided it up and gave it to a few neighbors, family & friends in little glass jars to try. It also makes my hair and nails really strong btw when I use it in bath. My nails are very brittle usually, prob from all the soft drinks I have, but when I use this they're strong for weeks on end. Anyway, I've added this to my top faves and definitely recommend. Have a feeling it would also keep a person healthier as opposed to not using. Good product and very pleased :

Excellent for Muscle/Joint Painâ™¡

This is an excellent natural health product! I got this huge jug of magesium flakes mostly for my mom, who loves baths and suffers from osteoarthritis pain and stiffness. She usually uses epsom salts, but it truly seems that this magnesium chloride absorbs through the skin better than the magnesium sulfate (epsom salts). The jar closes airtight, is easy to open and close (for those with joint issues/weakness), and the flakes dissolve well in warm water. They can also be broken into smaller pieces and ground up, or dissolved into homemade magnesium sprays. I recently blended the flakes into a detoxifying, anti-inflammatory bath salt blend, with ingredients including Organic Hemp Seed Oil, Organic Full Spectrum Cannabinoid/CBD Oil, Dead Sea Salt, Pink Himalayan Salt, Organic Turmeric Extract, and Organic Lavender and Eucalyptus Essential Oils. The aromatic, anti-inflammatory blend is absolutely wonderful; it has helped my mom with her tension, stress, and joint pain and stiffness. You can FEEL the difference between this and epson salt. I'll never use any other type of magnesium again unless this option isn't available to me. One cup of these flakes with one cup of baking soda and a sprinkle of borax in your bath makes for a great spa treatment at home

You will not be disappointed!

I just noticed last week that I have been sleeping like a baby for as many days. I didn't think much about it first, but then I was curious as to why things were going so smoothly. The only difference I could find in my daily routine is that I just started using these minerals in my bath. So, to perform an â€˜official experiment', I decided to leave them out for a few days, Just to see what would happen. Well, I can tell you, from my reliable scientific research....this product is the reason behind my deep sleep! I really never expected Such a drastic improvement, from something I added to my bath water. I am hooked and I will need to make sure I have enough time for an evening bath from now on. This is a game changer

This is a game changer. I use all this companyâ€˜s magnesium oil products. It sure is my restless legs within 5 to 10 minutes from applying the oil. Sometimes I get a trigger point in my neck. I take a shower and use the oil before bed. The next day I noticed a dramatic improvement. I continue to use it for a couple more days and my pain is completely gone. This is something that I would've normally had to go to the pain doctor to get trigger point injections. The stuff has made pain go away that I took hard-core prescribed painkillers . It breaks the cycle. If you were looking to get off of painkillers this is one of the big steps they helped me do it. I use The salt bath after a long hard day and all my muscles are killing me. The magnesium oil will burn like hell on open skin. But this salt bath does not have that affect. If my neck or back legs are hurting I'll take a bath in this before bed it really makes a difference. Headaches Be GONE

A natural tip to share-- Headaches. Possibly migraine... I've been getting them as a nice side dish with my cervical issues. A few days ago I decided to experiment. I could feel one of the headaches gearing up, it was going to be a doozy. I got the spray very close to my scalp and just saturated it. All over. And the headache WENT AWAY. Was this a fluke? Well, I don't think so because today I did it for the 3rd time... and ALL 3 TIMES IT HAS WORKED!!! Sure wish I realized this before... I've had several days that just completely disappeared from the calendar due to these headaches. â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸ðŸ™ŒðŸ™Œâ¤ï¸â¤ï¸ðŸŽ‰ðŸŽ‰â¤ï¸â¤ï¸â¤ï¸ (I made "magnesium oil" from a 1:1 mixture of flakes and hot water... put it in a spray bottle. Ancient Minerals Healed my Heels.

I have had cracked heels since 2000 and nothing I tried worked and finally decided I would just have to live with it. I started using Ancient Minerals because I am deficient and also love a relaxing bath. I was thrilled with the results! After about 1 month using it once or twice a week I noticed my heels were healed. It is unbelievable and I'm tickled pink. High recommend
