Worth every penny - I will never use Epsom salt again. I've been using Epsom salt for foot soaks for years, but did not find much relief. My physical therapist suggested pure magnesium flakes, and I noticed a difference right away! It dissolves well, and my RLS and leg cramps are nearly gone. I prefer a weekly foot soak as it’s easier for me.

Effective at night

Works for leg cramps at night. I have only used these flakes once, so this review is based solely on that experience. I have issues with night cramps in my lower legs. After using these flakes, I did not have cramps, so I believe they worked. As I cannot take oral magnesium, I was advised to use this topical form. I also use this brand's magnesium spray, which I find beneficial.
Leg cramps, often referred to as "charley horses," are sudden, involuntary contractions of one or more muscles in the leg. They typically occur in the calf muscles but can also affect the thighs and feet. These cramps can be quite painful and may last from a few seconds to several minutes. While the exact cause of leg cramps is not always clear, they can be triggered by factors such as dehydration, prolonged sitting or standing, electrolyte imbalances, or physical activity, especially in those who are not used to vigorous exercise.
Treatment for leg cramps often involves stretching the affected muscle gently, applying heat or cold to the area, and ensuring adequate hydration. For some, dietary adjustments to include more potassium, magnesium, and calcium may help prevent future occurrences. If cramps are frequent or severely debilitating, it may be beneficial to consult a healthcare provider for a more tailored approach. Understanding the underlying causes of leg cramps can lead to more effective management strategies, improving overall comfort and mobility.
A mineral bath is a therapeutic treatment that involves soaking in water enriched with natural minerals, such as magnesium, calcium, and sulfur. These minerals can come from various sources, including natural hot springs, mineral salts, or specific mineral-infused bath products. It is believed that soaking in mineral-rich water can provide various health benefits, including muscle relaxation, improved skin conditions, and detoxification. Many spas and wellness centers offer mineral baths, often incorporating elements like essential oils and healing herbs to enhance the experience.
The experience of a mineral bath can be both soothing and rejuvenating. The warmth of the water can help ease tension in the muscles, while the minerals are thought to penetrate the skin, delivering therapeutic effects. Some people also use mineral baths as a form of stress relief, taking time to unwind and focus on their well-being. Whether you visit a natural hot spring or prepare a mineral bath at home, the practice can be a wonderful way to integrate relaxation and self-care into your routine.
Mineral baths are often touted for their soothing benefits, which can be particularly helpful for relieving muscle tension and discomfort. When it comes to leg cramps, the warm water of a mineral bath can help improve circulation and relax tight muscles, potentially providing some relief. Many mineral baths contain ingredients such as magnesium and calcium, which are known for their muscle-relaxing properties. Soaking in a warm mineral bath may not only help alleviate the pain associated with cramps but can also aid in preventing future occurrences by promoting overall muscle health.
However, it is important to remember that while mineral baths can be a relaxing remedy, they should not replace medical advice or treatments for chronic leg cramps. If cramps are frequent or severe, it's advisable to consult with a healthcare professional to determine the underlying cause. They may recommend stretching exercises, dietary changes, or other interventions alongside the use of a mineral bath for a more comprehensive approach to managing leg cramps.

Magnesium is scarcely absorbed even when taken orally, so I purchased it for transdermal absorption. The occurrence of leg cramps has diminished. I now sweat even with minimal effort.
