Lactic acid bacteria inhibit Candida albicans
We explored how lactic acid bacteria (LAB) can combat the harmful effects of Candida albicans, the fungus responsible for yeast infections. Through our study, we found that the supernatant from LAB like Lactobacillus crispatus and L. gasseri effectively inhibited the growth and harmful activity of C. albicans.

Specifically, L. gasseri showed exceptional ability in preventing the formation of biofilms and hyphae, crucial stages in fungal development. Additionally, the metabolites produced by these bacteria downregulated key genes associated with C. albicans, reinforcing their role in maintaining vaginal health.

Overall, while the findings are promising, further research is needed to confirm the clinical effectiveness of these metabolites in treating or preventing yeast infections.

We explored how Limosilactobacillus fermentum KBL674 impacts vaginal candidiasis, commonly caused by Candida albicans. In a mouse model, this probiotic strain significantly inhibited C. albicans growth and alleviated symptoms like tissue swelling and immune response. Interestingly, many of the administered L. fermentum KBL674 didn't remain in the gut; it altered gut bacteria diversity, linking these changes to reduced yeast infection severity. Overall, our findings suggest that L. fermentum KBL674 may offer a promising approach to help manage yeast infections.

Lactobacillus maintains microbiota balance
We investigated how lactobacillus probiotics could restore the vaginal and gut microbiota of pregnant women dealing with vaginal candidiasis. In a well-structured randomized study with 78 participants, we compared a probiotic with a placebo over eight weeks.

Our findings showed that those receiving the probiotic had stable microbiota, unlike those on the placebo, who experienced significant shifts. This suggests lactobacillus can help maintain a healthy microbial balance, which is essential for health during pregnancy. Overall, lactobacillus probiotics offer promising benefits in managing yeast infections.

Miracle cure. I typically don’t write reviews unless I feel strongly about a product. I’ve struggled with BV and yeast infections for about three years. After trying various treatments, I found myself in a frustrating cycle. Within two days of taking this product, everything cleared up. I now have no pH issues even after new partners. This product has truly cured me.

Wasn't expecting greatness. I never write reviews unless I really love a product, and this is one of those. It actually works. I struggled with BV and yeast infections every month after my period, which my doctor attributed to my birth control causing hormonal changes and an imbalance. My doctor frequently prescribed awful-tasting medication I had to take for 7 days, twice daily. I began researching probiotics and their ingredients for feminine health and stumbled upon this product. After a month of use, I can safely say, get it. I have not had a single infection since starting, and I just got off my period. No itching, no discharge, and no odour! I work out daily and noticed no smell at all. This product works wonders.

Amazing. I am a 28-year-old female and for the last two years, I have struggled with my pH balance. I visited the gynaecologist multiple times a year, usually diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis, along with frequent yeast infections. I was at my wits' end! After trying various gels and pills with only temporary relief, a co-worker suggested a daily pill. After taking it for three months, I have had no issues since. I highly recommend this to anyone considering it!

Lactobacillus gasseri shows promise
We investigated the potential of a specific strain of Lactobacillus gasseri, named VHProbi E09, to treat vaginitis and fight off common pathogens causing yeast infections. Through laboratory tests, we found that this strain effectively inhibited the growth of harmful bacteria and yeast by over 99%.

Additionally, it prevented these pathogens from adhering to vaginal cells, showing promise for future clinical applications. While these results are promising, further research is necessary to fully understand its effectiveness in clinical settings and its role in restoring normal vaginal flora.

We investigated how Lactobacillus rhamnosus Lcr35, contained in the GYNOPHILUS product, can combat yeast infections like Candida. This study showed that the product’s formulation, enhanced by sodium thiosulfate, improves its ability to kill yeast cells.

Remarkably, after 48 hours of co-culturing, the yeast’s viability dropped to zero. The presence of odor-active sulfur compounds, specifically S-methyl thioacetate, was linked to this antifungal effect.

Interestingly, achieving the full antifungal impact relies on these sulfur components.

Novel yeast infection treatment studied
We examined a new treatment, VAGINNE, derived from beneficial species to tackle vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC). Using a mouse model, we observed that VAGINNE improved the balance of the vaginal microbiome while reducing harmful yeast growth.

Additionally, it lowered inflammatory markers in both vaginal tissue and blood, suggesting an anti-inflammatory effect. Our histological analysis showed better tissue integrity in treated mice compared to those without treatment.

These results indicate that VAGINNE can be a promising, side-effect-free alternative to conventional antifungals for managing VVC, especially in cases where drugs fail or cause issues.

Probiotics enhance yeast infection treatment
We aimed to understand if adding probiotics to standard antifungal treatment improves outcomes for vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC). In our study, 60 women diagnosed with VVC were divided into two groups.

One group received just antifungal medication, while the other received both antifungal and probiotic treatments.

Results indicated that those who took probiotics alongside their antifungal showed better improvement and had lower relapse rates. This suggests that probiotics can be a beneficial addition to standard yeast infection treatments.

No reduction in VVI recurrence
We investigated the role of oral probiotics in preventing recurrent vulvovaginal infections (VVIs) during pregnancy. In a rigorous multicenter trial, pregnant women with previous infections received either a probiotic or placebo.

Despite the intention to enhance vaginal health, our findings revealed no significant difference in infection rates between the two groups. This indicates that the tested probiotics did not effectively lower the risk of VVIs after treatment.

Thus, for pregnant women, these specific probiotics seem to fall short in combatting recurring infections.

Lactobacillus crispatus protects VEC
We investigated how Lactobacillus crispatus interacts with vaginal epithelial cells (VEC) during Candida albicans infections. Using a specific cell line, we observed how Candida initially invaded VEC through endocytosis. This led to damage and cell death. However, when we introduced Lactobacillus crispatus, we noted a recovery in the VEC morphology and destruction of the yeast's structure. This suggests that Lactobacillus crispatus may help protect VEC from Candida infections by occupying the space and preventing further damage.
We examined how certain vaginal bacteria, particularly Lactobacillus crispatus, can combat yeast infections caused by Candida. By isolating these bacteria from healthy women, we found that L. crispatus was especially effective in inhibiting various Candida strains. This was achieved through mechanisms like reducing yeast adhesion to cells. Our findings suggest that probiotics containing L. crispatus could be valuable in preventing or treating Candida infections, highlighting the potential for new therapeutic options based on these beneficial bacteria.
