I bought the Bigelow Green Tea after tasting how delicious the Bigelow I Love Lemon tea is. Here's a few pros and cons. Pros: Price wise - great price, $14.99 after 15% with Subscribe & Save and Free shipping for 240 tea bags comes out to around 6.2 cents each tea bag Cons: Figured they be individually wrapped like the I Love Lemon tea but it's not. These 40 count boxes are not packaged individually in foil packs but there are 4 tea bags in 1 foil pack and not resealable. Therefore, if you're not a frequent tea drinker, the tea bags might loose freshness after you open the foil pack after a few days. If you want individually packaged tea bags, you should look at the Bigelow Green Tea, 20-Count Boxes (Pack of 6). If I leave the tea bag in my cup for more than a minute, I will see loose tea particles on the bottom of my cup, leaving the last mouthful of tea undrinkable. This problem does not happen in the I Love Lemon tea by Bigelow even if I leave the tea bag in my cup for more than 10 mins. I'm not sure if there's a same problem in the Bigelow Green Tea, 20-Count Boxes (Pack of 6) because I haven't tried that yet. Taste wise - okay, same as any ordinary green tea. Drink for health benefits! _________________________________________________ Update!!! May 6, 2014 Well...I started another brand shortly after writing my first review but decided I want to give these another try a few months ago. I'm glad I did. No more loose particles on the bottom of the cup!!! Taste remained the same. Went from a 3 star to a 4 star now. Two cons: 1) the flavor only lasts through 1 cup. Same teabag second cup = bland. 2) not individually packaged (still 4 teabags per foil pack) Will be purchasing again

Wonderful flavor

I stopped drinking coffee and started drinking tea after being diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer. After doing a lot of research, I have changed my diet to much healthier choices and started on a regiment of cancer fighting foods, herbs and extracts that the Chinese have been using to fight cancer while undergoing my immunotherapy treatments. Turmeric and green tea are some of them. It's been 4 months since I was diagnosed and the cancer is shrinking with no new spots. I can't say whether or not this tea has helped, it certainly is a lot healthier than coffee. It also has an awesome flavor. The pepper and turmeric is just the right blend. it's not too strong and has a good after taste. I love it. and will continue to buy this tea

Best low cost teas.

When ordering I noticed a lot of negative reviews. I also noticed reviews on tea flavors unrelated to the flavor I was viewing. Yesterday I ordered 120 bags of Bigalow Constant Comments black and same for Constant Comments green. I am reviewing them both here as it appears Amazon does not care what you're actually reviewing so I assume this will land on all Bigalow teas. I received these today and you'll notice the dates and packaging. Excellent, fresh, exactly what I expected. It's the same tea I get at the local store but cheaper. I'm am not sure how people are getting old tea, bad or possibly counterfeit teas. This looks as if it came from Bigalow, who is listed under the product name and is fulfilled by Amazon. I can bet you money the tea you buy at a chain retailer, like Kroger, is not as fresh as this

It must be Bigelow for me!!

As I've always enjoyed coffee much more than tea, when it came to regular tea, most any good brand would do for the few times I had it. I actually did want to drink more tea, if only I could find one that I truly enjoyed. I then moved on to other teas recommended by people that were tea 'experts' so to speak. It was after trying some of those varieties, that I saw such a marked difference in taste and enjoyment. I was now on the path to consuming more tea!! Being health conscious and watching what I eat and drink, as well as, having a daily exercise regimen, I started to look at green tea as a daily beverage option. I had done quite a bit of reading on the subject and as I take various supplements, use protein powder, etc., I wanted to add the benefits of green tea to my regular menu. Try as I might, I wasn't able to find a green tea that had a substantial and pleasing flavor. I had tried several name brands, many of which received glowing reviews, but none excited me in the least. I found many to be very weak, despite the claims of their manufacturers. Many were even downright bitter. Well, I happened to be in a discussion one evening while out for dinner and the subject of green tea was brought up, followed by the name 'Bigelow'. I obviously had heard the name, but had never tried that particular brand and I was all ears. A number of people at the table drank it regularly. For me, as I stated previously, all the others were either weak (with very little taste), or they had a very bitter aftertaste with a almost 'dry mouth' type of effect. Enter Bigelow green tea. I ordered it here on Amazon. As soon as it arrived, I was ready to try a cup. I followed the directions perfectly when making my first cup and I was extremely happy to find a very substantial and pleasing taste with no bitterness what-so-ever. Even when I accidentally left the tea bag in the cup a bit too long, there were no adverse results. I still had a great cup of green tea. Most directions will tell you to 'not squeeze the bag', but I even tried this just to see what difference, if any, it would cause. What I found was a cup of tea that was still very pleasing in taste, just a bit stronger. Still, there was no bitterness. In conclusion, Bigelow is so very good, that it would take something very extraordinary to have myself even think of making a change. I now sit down to my evening tea, knowing the enjoyment that awaits. I truly think you'll love this tea. As to packaging, the tea-bags are packaged four to a pouch. Carefully open the foil pouch with a scissor at one end, remove a tea-bag and fold the edge of the pouch over to keep the unused tea-bags fresh. There really is no need for each tea-bag to have a separate pouch

It's Organic, OK? – And more than acceptable taste

Hardly a connoisseur of green teas, I nonetheless consume lots of it -- on a typical workday, I drink 4-6 packets of the stuff. There are surprisingly few options for organic tea, though I imagine this will change gradually over time. Bigelow packs these with one overall paper wrapping, and several bags are enclosed in a separate sealed wrapper. Intended to preserve freshness (see the Wikipedia entry for green tea for more on this), this is convenient if you want to pack several bags for lunch at work. I'd also tried Celestial Seasonings' (non organic) green tea, and notice that it was somewhat less tolerant of boiling water than the Bigelow product, which Wikipedia tells us can cause green tea leaves to produce bitterness. Celestial Seasonings green tea offering seemed to pack slightly more taste, but the difference is small in my judgment. I have an unscientific suspicion that an almost-boiled product might release more unwanted chemicals from non-organic farming, and since I drink lots of tea, it seems worth the additional expense to buy organic. Lipton sells what is to my palette an equally acceptable green tea, but it's not organic. I recommend mixing this with Celestial Seasonings Herb Tea, Cinnamon Apple Spice also available from Amazon Celestial Seasonings Herb Tea, Cinnamon Apple Spice, Tea Bags, 20-Count Boxes (Pack of 6) . Even a single occasional bag of apple spice will add a pleasant tangy flavor to the typically (let's admit it) bland green tea flavor. I'm currently purchasing both products through Amazon's Subscribe and Save. Bigelow products are rarely discounted by local grocers, save the occasional promotion on a specific flavor

Tastes great with honey, turmeric is good for inflammation, antioxidant green tea has benefits

I have never really had green tea before so I did not know what to expect. I have plantar fasciitis so the turmeric in the bags was interesting because It is good for inflammation, along with the antioxidant green tea. So it tastes okay, it takes a couple minutes to soak depending on whether your water is warm or cold. The tea by itself I didn't particularly like that well, but I added a couple of tablespoons of Honey into 12 oz cup, and then I really liked it. On top of everything else, my foot seems to feel better. Each bag has around 35 mg of caffeine, so that's not much of a factor. I'm a week into my six boxes, and I make sure to drink at least one 14 oz glass of tea a day. In fact I look forward to it after discovering the honey

All the Tea in China can NOT out do Bigelow Teas

Bigelow Green Tea, 40-Count Boxes (Pack of 6) I've enjoyed Bigelow Teas for 12 years, particularly, Green Teas. Their other Teas are great also. I started drinking Bigelow Green Tea because it was accessible in most food stores. I began with green tea because I believed this is the type of tea served in Chinesse restaurants. I can't drink coffee. It doesn't agree with my stomach and it stimulates a "hunger cycle" where I "have to eat" to stop the hunger. I weighed almost 250 lbs. I attended OA and understood "food was my drug of choice." So, whether the hunger and craving for food was really stimulated by drinking coffee, I stopped drinking coffee and decided to drink green tea because I had never experienced such cravings with that. The craving for food could well have been psychological. Nevertheless, I have been drinking Bigelow Green Tea for 12 years accompanied with healthy eating habits, no diets, I have lost 100 lbs. The main thought is Bigelow Green Tea is just right for me. Its mellow. You won't believe how long I let it brew/steep! A long time be- cause I like it strong. I really do recommend this tea to everyone. Its a great alternative to coffee. You can drink it with or without sugar, cream or milk. Love this tea!

I drink this tea for general health and for a metabolic boost! It definitely works to speed my metabolism and I lose more body fat when I incorporate this into my daily diet regimen

Great buy. Great value and variety.

I love this brand. When I first researched green tea years ago, Bigelow was the recommendation for value for green tea. I have used this brand for years and years years now. This isy first time trying a variety pack. I was extremely pleased. I hope they come out with matcha green tea variety pack as well. The tea stayed fresh (I do store the bags in a glass jar with a rubber seal after opening the box. I love the taste whether hot or cold. Yes, I make pitchers of green tea as well. The mint green tea is especially soothing for my migraine headaches (I sometimes add some extra peppermint fresh from my herb garden as well. Although the mint flavor from the bags is absolutely beautiful and needs no enhancement). I highly recommend this as well as other green tea from this brand

green tea for inflammation

Research indicated that green tea is good for inflammation. I love the taste of this tea. I drink it unsweetened and there's no bitterness, which is common with black teas. 4 bags steeped in boiling water for 6 minutes makes 1/2 gallon
