Not For Arthritis or Fine Motor Skill Issues
I don't review often but I felt to offer one here. It's a good product for most, but having greatly reduced fine motor skills this product couldn't work for me. After going through too many plastic pill caddys with weak easy stressed and broken hinges, I thought I might try something new. That was this product. First issue? The outer case which houses the individual disc compartments is clasped in such a way that I found it quite difficult to open. Notice also the clasp is located at the bottom of the case, almost underneath it. Getting one's compromised thumb and fingers under there is very difficult without picking up the entire unit. The clasp again being so stiff that more than once at finally getting it open, the individual compartments went flying across the room. Again, I have issues with my hands these days, and others may have no trouble. Secondly? After having enjoyed a push button release (weak hinges not withstanding) caddy for years, I realized a bit too late that a clasp and hinge device like this would mean my struggling with the plastic clasp with every dose. Those snapping clasps which used to be a breeze just aren't so easy anymore. And yes, these have incredibly sturdy hinges. Too sturdy for me. After struggling with each individual clasp I found myself struggling to pry each case open. Once or twice my pills went airborne, and man, I need those meds! If I didn't have reduced abilities I might be a very happy customer of the caddy. I might even go so far as to possibly recommend it, but not to someone with any sort of trouble with your hands. Arthritis? Parkinsons? M.S.? You may want pass this one by. Me? I am once again happy having gone back to the old fashioned push button style
