We discovered that a diet enriched with omega-3 fatty acids can effectively reduce symptoms of allergic conjunctivitis (AC) in mice. This reduction occurred without influencing the typical immune responses usually associated with allergies. Instead, omega-3s worked by changing the lipid molecules linked to inflammation.

Notably, these fatty acids completely suppressed itching near the eyes and significantly decreased the presence of eosinophils, cells commonly involved in allergic reactions. However, total serum IgE levels and T2 cytokine expression remained unchanged, suggesting that omega-3s tackle AC symptoms in a unique way.

We analyzed various trials to see how omega-3 fish oil affects rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Our research included 18 randomized controlled studies with 1,018 RA patients. The results showed omega-3 supplementation significantly increased beneficial omega-3 fatty acids, like EPA and DHA, and reduced triglycerides and tender joint count.

However, it didn't lead to significant changes in some inflammation markers and overall disease activity. While there are positive outcomes regarding certain symptoms, we found no remarkable evidence for its effectiveness in reducing inflammation levels.

Phenomenal product! Omega-3s are renowned for enhancing heart health and lowering triglycerides. Studies indicate they may aid conditions like rheumatoid arthritis. Since starting DEVA algae pills over a year ago, I notice when I forget to take them; I feel stiffer and achier. It's as though my joints are not lubricated, akin to a car engine needing oil. This product, free from GMOs and suitable for vegans, stands out due to its microalgae source, devoid of ocean contaminants. I encourage those taking fish oil to consider where the fish source their Omega-3s: from algae!

We investigated the link between plasma omega-3 levels and the risk of heart failure (HF) in a large UK cohort study. Our analysis revealed that higher omega-3 levels were associated with a 21% lower chance of developing HF over nearly 14 years.

For individuals already diagnosed with HF, elevated omega-3 levels corresponded to about a 50% reduction in the risk of overall and cardiovascular mortality. These results suggest that boosting omega-3 intake through diet or supplements may help prevent HF and increase longevity for those already facing heart challenges.

I have not eaten meat, fish, or seafood since 2008, so Omega-3 and vitamin B-12 are vital for me. Omega-3 improves metabolism, dilutes blood to prevent clots, and supports cardiovascular health. It also inhibits skin ageing, enhances joint function, and positively impacts brain function and mood. Without enough Omega-3, one might face issues such as dry skin, fatigue, frequent colds, and depression. To avoid these symptoms, it's essential to consume Omega-3 rich foods or take supplements like this product.

We examined the effects of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) on episodic migraine patients through a 12-week randomized double-blind trial. Seventy participants were divided into two groups, one receiving EPA and the other a placebo.

Those taking the EPA experienced significant decreases in migraine frequency, medication use, headache severity, and improvements in overall quality of life.

Notably, women benefitted particularly from this treatment. Overall, high-dose EPA showed promise as an effective preventive option for episodic migraines, with no major side effects observed.

We investigated the role of resolvin D1 (RvD1) in protecting esophageal epithelial cells from damage caused by acid reflux. Through exposure tests, we found that RvD1 could effectively block oxidative stress and DNA damage linked to acid exposure.

Notably, RvD1 not only reduced harmful reactive oxygen species but also enhanced the cell's ability to repair DNA damage, signaling a promising potential for treatment in patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease. However, we need more studies to confirm its benefits in clinical settings.

We aimed to see how omega-3 fatty acids from fish oil could ease nausea and other symptoms in patients with advanced lung cancer suffering from Systemic Immune-Metabolic Syndrome (SIMS). The study involved a small group of patients divided into treatment groups, some receiving fish oil and others a combination of fish oil with celecoxib.

After six weeks, we noted improvements in appetite, fatigue, and lower inflammation markers in both fish oil groups. Interestingly, those who received fish oil alongside celecoxib showed even greater benefits in weight gain and muscle strength. These findings suggest that fish oil may help manage certain symptoms associated with nausea but not specifically reduce it alone.

Pregnant safe :). I was concerned about reviews stating this pill had a fishy taste/smell. However, being vegetarian, I was eager to ensure my baby and I received the proper nutrients, so I gave it a try. I'm glad I did! Now, nearing the end of my pregnancy, I'm still very pleased with this pill. It even didn’t trouble me during my first trimester nausea. I refrigerate the pills as suggested by another reviewer. If you're undecided about trying this, I recommend going for it.

We conducted a study to see if omega-3 fatty acids could help people with major depressive disorder as a standalone treatment. Over 12 weeks, 60 participants took either omega-3 supplements or a placebo.

Results showed that those taking omega-3 had lower depression scores at various points throughout the study. While there were hints of improved outcomes in terms of remission and response rates, these weren't statistically significant.

Overall, omega-3 fatty acids could be a promising alternative, but further research is necessary to confirm their effectiveness.

This study explored whether omega-3 fatty acids (n-3 FA) could slow down intervertebral disc degeneration, a common source of lower back pain. We induced disc degeneration in rats and then divided them into two groups—one received a daily diet enriched with omega-3s, while the other had a control diet.

After a month, we noted a decrease in inflammation markers in the omega-3 group. Furthermore, MRI scans showed better hydration in their discs and histological assessments indicated less tissue damage. These findings suggest that omega-3 supplementation could be beneficial for back pain related to disc degeneration.

We assessed how eicosapentaenoic acid, an essential fatty acid, impacts chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS). A group of CFS patients took a specific supplement rich in this fatty acid. Remarkably, every participant reported symptom improvement within eight to twelve weeks.

These findings align with other research that shows the positive effects of eicosapentaenoic acid, hinting that it could be a promising treatment option for some individuals living with CFS.

We examined the impact of omega-3 fatty acids, often found in fish oil, on heart attack risks, particularly in patients with high triglyceride levels. The studies indicate that while omega-3s can effectively lower triglycerides and reduce certain cardiovascular disease outcomes, including fatal heart attacks, their overall benefit remains debated. Despite extensive research demonstrating some positive outcomes, many experts still question the magnitude of their effects on heart attack prevention. Improved guidance on omega-3 supplementation is still evolving as new evidence emerges.

We explored whether purified docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), an omega-3 fatty acid, can ease knee pain and swelling in a mouse model of arthritis. Mice with arthritis were treated with either oral or injected DHA, and we observed notable improvements in pain behavior and knee swelling.

This study highlights that DHA may reduce pain and inflammation in knee arthritis, suggesting it could be a helpful option for those suffering from rheumatoid arthritis. However, it’s essential to keep in mind that these results come from an animal model, and human studies are necessary.

I have not consumed meat, fish, or seafood since 2008, making Omega-3 and vitamin B-12 essential staples from iHerb. Omega-3 offers several benefits: it enhances metabolism, supports heart health by lowering blood pressure and cholesterol, and improves joint function. It positively affects the brain and memory, boosts immunity, and elevates mood. Insufficient Omega-3 can lead to skin issues, fatigue, and even heart disease. Including Omega-3-rich foods in my diet or opting for this product ensures I remain healthy. Wishing everyone health and love! 💗

We conducted a comprehensive trial to understand how different types of omega-3 fatty acids affect cholesterol levels and inflammation in adults struggling with high cholesterol.

Over 12 weeks, participants took various doses of omega-3s, including EPA and DHA, revealing notable benefits. Those receiving higher doses of EPA and DHA saw their triglycerides drop significantly—by up to 15.78%—compared to controls.

Interestingly, ALA supplementation did not lead to improvements in cholesterol or inflammation status, highlighting the superior role of EPA and DHA in managing these health issues.

We explored the impact of a high omega-3, low omega-6 diet with fish oil on men with prostate cancer under active surveillance. In a year-long study involving 100 participants, those following the omega-rich regimen showed a notable 15% decrease in the Ki-67 index, a key marker for cancer progression.

In contrast, the control group experienced an increase in this index. While the diet showed promise in slowing down potential cancer growth, no significant differences were noted in other cancer-related measurements. Our findings encourage further research on dietary strategies in prostate cancer management.

Highly irritating orange oil gave me interstitial cystitis. I've taken this supplement for years, and never suspected a link until now. I've eliminated irritants related to IC, and stopped taking the deva dha; my symptoms improved within a week. I hope the prolonged inflammation hasn't led to bladder cancer.
