Helps gastric conditions
This is a quality supplement made from excellent ingredients: 600 mg per capsule. It aids in managing gastric ulcers, duodenal ulcers, gastritis, and erosive damage to the digestive system's mucous membranes. It features strong antiseptic, antifungal, and antibacterial properties along with anti-inflammatory effects. The capsules are medium-sized, with no taste or smell, making them easy to swallow.

Relief using flaxseeds
Alpha Lipoic Acid should be taken strictly on an empty stomach 30 minutes before meals. My husband, despite taking medications for gastritis, felt discomfort after his healed ulcer. The solution was brewing flax seeds overnight in boiling water. He drinks Alpha Lipoic Acid with the resulting mucus-enhanced broth, avoiding unpleasant sensations. Interestingly, capsules are better absorbed than tablets, but some capsules can compress due to temperature changes. I ensure to check the capsules before giving them.

Severe stomach pain
So I started taking Doctor's BEST Alpha Lipoic Acid at 150mg every day between meals (as recommended on an empty stomach). I did notice slight belching, but that didn’t bother me. However, two weeks later, I began to experience stomach pain. My husband, who had a history of ulcers, agreed the symptoms aligned with stomach pain. After taking some medicines, the pain intensified to tears, prompting a visit to the emergency room. I was diagnosed with "Gastritis. Bulbit". Despite our careful diet, the only change had been taking alpha-lipoic acid.

Worsened my ulcer
It caused me a severe duodenal ulcer. Anyone with a duodenal or stomach ulcer should avoid this product as it irritates the ulcer. I had forgotten about my ulcer for ten years, but it returned larger and more painful after using alpha lipoic acid for just two weeks, proving it’s an acid that can exacerbate such conditions.

Caution advised
25 people found this helpful
This supplement is wonderful but should be taken cautiously by those with gastrointestinal issues like weak mucous membranes, erosions, ulcers, and gastritis. Thioctic acid can cause a burning sensation, similar to black pepper. It’s best to open the capsule and consume the contents with plenty of water. It’s surprising the manufacturer doesn’t mention this! Wishing everyone health and happiness.
