Remedy for colds
4 people found this helpful
A SOS remedy for colds. In Russia, they are familiar with ACC, and NAC serves as a more affordable alternative. I utilise it in complex detox therapy for colds, alongside vitamin C, hot water, zinc, sorbents, cumin oil, and kysta. NAC effectively removes viruses and lessens the load on the immune system. Remarkably, I have not been ill for more than 3-4 days for two years now!

Excellent! After suffering from pneumonia, every cold tends to lead to persistent bronchitis. NAC is my saviour during colds. I take one capsule every morning 30 minutes before meals. If I’m already unwell, I take a dose every four hours. No side effects—an excellent mucolytic and strong antioxidant recommended for long-term use to prevent ageing. Please find more positive benefits online. If this review was helpful, do say yes!

Effective! I drink this when I have a cold; it helps clear phlegm, relieves my temperature, and aids in faster recovery.
Cold is a term that refers to a state of low temperature, often associated with a perceptibly chilly environment or the sensation of being cool to the touch. Scientifically, cold is relative to the presence and movement of heat, which is a measure of energy within matter. In everyday terms, we experience cold through weather changes, such as during winter months, and it can also be described in the context of specific temperature ranges – for example, temperatures below 32 degrees Fahrenheit (0 degrees Celsius) generally signify freezing conditions, which can impact outdoor activities, personal comfort, and various ecological systems.
Moreover, the sensation of cold is not solely dependent on temperature; factors like humidity and wind chill can enhance the feeling of coldness. When discussing cold in terms of human health, prolonged exposure to cold conditions can lead to hypothermia or frostbite if body heat is not effectively maintained. Hence, it's crucial to dress appropriately and take necessary precautions during colder months to prevent adverse effects. Understanding the concept of cold can help individuals better prepare for seasonal changes and ensure their comfort and safety.
N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC) is a modified form of the amino acid cysteine, known for its role as a powerful antioxidant and mucolytic agent. It has been widely used as a dietary supplement for various health benefits, including supporting respiratory health, detoxification, and enhancing overall immune function. NAC is particularly recognized for its ability to replenish glutathione, one of the body's most important antioxidants, which helps combat oxidative stress and protect cells from damage.
In addition to its antioxidant properties, N-Acetyl Cysteine is commonly leveraged in a clinical setting for its effectiveness in treating acetaminophen (Tylenol) overdoses, as it aids in restoring depleted glutathione levels, thus preventing liver damage. It can also be beneficial for individuals with chronic respiratory conditions, such as COPD or cystic fibrosis, as it helps in thinning mucus, making it easier to expel. While NAC is generally considered safe for most people, it’s important to consult a healthcare professional before starting any new supplement, particularly for those with pre-existing conditions or those already on medication.
N-acetyl cysteine (NAC) is a supplement that is primarily known for its role as an antioxidant and mucolytic agent. While it has shown potential in various medical applications, including respiratory conditions, its effectiveness in treating the common cold is not definitively established. Some studies suggest that NAC may help in reducing the severity and duration of respiratory infections due to its ability to thin mucus and enhance glutathione levels, which can support immune function. However, the evidence remains mixed, and more robust clinical trials are needed to conclude its efficacy specifically for cold symptoms.
It's essential to note that while NAC may offer some benefits, it shouldn’t replace standard methods for managing cold symptoms, such as rest, hydration, and over-the-counter medications. If you're considering using NAC for cold relief, it's wise to consult with a healthcare professional first to ensure it's appropriate for your situation and to discuss the correct dosage, as individual needs and health circumstances can vary significantly.

This is exceptionally strong! I gave it to a friend on the second day of his cold, and by morning, his symptoms had nearly vanished! It seemed to aid phlegm clearance, though it may not have been substantial. It should be combined with vitamins and zinc.

Stops colds effectively
Perhaps many positive things have been said about NAC, but I will share my experience. I ordered it for the first time and tried it out of curiosity. It is now in the top 10 of my medicine cabinet. I frequently catch colds, including nasal and throat symptoms, with fever lasting up to a week. However, with NAC (at the first signs, I take 2-3 capsules twice a day), I ceased to feel unwell at all. My health improves by the second or third day with no complications, which is fantastic! Definitely a yes from me.

Cleanses mucus
Wonderful! I consistently purchase this. During cold season, we give it to children and take it ourselves. It effectively cleanses the body of stagnant phlegm in the throat, nose, and lungs. Children take one tablet daily, while adults take two. I highly recommend it!
