My Neurosurgeon's provided me with a case of Ensure to drink prior to my 8 hour back surgery about a year ago. I was given more each day while I was in the hospital & again daily at the Rehabilitation Nursing facility. I was at the Rehabilitation nursing home for another month. I love the taste. My favorite is the vanilla original. Prior to my surgery I was under mega stress & mega pain for several years. During this time I was losing alot of hair, was always fatigued, grinding my teeth & I gained alot of weight. I was unable to cook myself proper meals because I couldn't stand long enough to cook a nutritious meals. The surgery changed my life. I am not in mega severe pain like I was prior to surgery. I will always have problems & will live in pain for the rest of my life. After several months of rehab & drinking Ensure I was finally feeling better. Even my mood changed for the better. I stopped losing hair & had more energy. ( still have the excess weight...Grrrr) I continued to drink Ensure for just over a year on a daily basis. During this time the medical bill's started to fill the mailbox. I had to cut expenses & Ensure was on that list. Approximately 4 months later I started losing hair again, my energy plummeted & depressed. I can cook more than I used to but I still have trouble. So, making nutritional meals every day- just not happening. I tried different multivitamins & other meal replacement drinks to feed my body what it needs. I was not getting results. Therefore, back to Ensure. Now I just need to find other ways to cut expenses so that I can afford Ensure. Social Security Disability payments just are not enough. I definitely recommend Ensure. It has proven itself to me & my body & brain. I usually purchase Ensure at the Grocery store. I don't drive because of my back issues & I need to depend on others. Well I was out of Ensure & no one could get me to the store. I was pleasantly surprise that I could get Ensure through Amazon & they have a larger case & the price is only slightly more
