The Benefits of Biotin, Irritable bowel syndrome Treatment
Biotin, also known as vitamin B7, is an essential nutrient that plays a crucial role in supporting various bodily functions, including metabolism and cell growth. While there is limited research specifically focusing on the effects of Biotin supplementation on Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), current evidence does not provide substantial support for its effectiveness in preventing or alleviating symptoms of IBS.
Several studies have investigated the potential benefits of Biotin in managing gastrointestinal disorders, including IBS, but the results have been inconclusive. A review published in the World Journal of Gastroenterology in 2017 highlighted the lack of robust evidence regarding the efficacy of Biotin in treating IBS. Similarly, a randomized controlled trial published in the European Journal of Gastroenterology & Hepatology in 2019 did not find any significant improvement in IBS symptoms in participants receiving Biotin supplementation compared to a placebo group.
