Our Rescued Irish Wolfhounds Were Plagued With Allergies
Our most recently rescued Irish Wolfhounds (Piper and Finnegan) both came to us with digestive and skin problems. As the veteranarians always say, Allergies manifest themselves as "ears and rears". Food Allergies are the most common problems and and it became a real project trying to get proper nutrition into these magnificent animals without having them reward you with spectacular awful results. Before beginning the ardous process of elminating foods and starting to introduce them back into their diets, I took a shortcut and called a friend who breeds champion IWHs. When I explained the problem we were having she chuckled a bit and suggested trying 1,000 mg of Ester-C. If you look at the third label down on this product page you will see all of the ingredients that commonly cause Allergies in many people and probably some animals. So I took her advice and started including this supplement with their evening meals. I also gave each one of them a benadryl pill at night to help with their symptoms and hopefully improve their comfort level. It took about a week but the messy butts and itchy ears went away.
