Weird taste & weirder teeth
I've used Flintstones chewable vitamins for YEARS - both as a child and as an adult. I was diagnosed with a digestive illness that inhibits my ability to absorb vitamins and even food very well when it's active. I stuck with the Flintstones to give my digestive system a better chance of absorbing nutrients without having to also break down a hard tablet. I agree with all the recent reviews - something is completely off with the flavor. I also noticed something else - a purple vitamin left a black dotted looking stain close to the gum line on several of my bottom teeth. It had the appearance of mold growing (gross, I know). To backtrack a bit, I take the vitamin right after dinner so that it's absorbed better (or so my doc says). I wait to brush my teeth until right before bedtime. It has never been a problem with Flintstones until I received this batch. I first noticed the “black” on my teeth as I washed my face. I tried to get the color off with a finger - it didn't work. Trying not to panic, I started brushing my teeth. Normal brushing did not work. It took a lot of HARD brushing to get the black off. In the moment, I felt grateful that it came off at all. It was scary. Of course, it could be something unique about my teeth - or maybe the toothpaste I use helped cause this alarming reaction. I didn't see any other review mention anything like my experience. Now, after a lifetime of using Flintstones, I'll never feel safe using them again. I'm a little sad - but not so sad that I'd risk permanently staining my teeth
