We explored the potential of Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus GG as a probiotic treatment against avian pathogenic E. coli (APEC) in chickens. Our study showed that this probiotic significantly reduced APEC colonization in the chickens' cecum and improved the balance of gut microbiota over a 24-hour period.

Through laboratory evaluations, we detected novel bioactive peptides in the probiotic's culture supernatants, which may contribute to its antibacterial properties. While the results are promising for poultry health, more research is needed to optimize its use in real farming conditions.

We explored how Bifidobacterium bifidum TMC3115 could help infants with cow's milk protein allergy (CMPA). In our controlled trial with 256 infants, half received B. bifidum while the other half received a placebo.

Over six months, we observed significant reductions in allergic scores and improvements in anti-inflammatory responses among those taking B. bifidum. We also found changes in gut microbiota, increasing beneficial bacteria and decreasing potentially harmful ones.

Though promising, these interventions indicate that managing CMPA may benefit from focusing on gut health.

Caring for the unborn child, probiotics are both safe and recommended for pregnant and breastfeeding women. I began taking this complex from the 36th week of pregnancy and continued during breastfeeding. My child has no colic and experiences no allergies to complementary foods! Recent research reveals that even in the womb, the fetus has bacteria that depend on the mother’s flora. Probiotics are essential for our intestines — where most immune cells reside. Studies have proven that perinatal intake of probiotics reduces sensitivity to allergens in infants, lowers atopic dermatitis risk, and enhances the child's resistance to respiratory infections. They can be taken throughout pregnancy in monthly courses and during lactation. Health!

We set out to explore how lactobacillus acidophilus, specifically strain B-2178, impacts vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC) in female rats. By dividing our study subjects into five groups, we included controls and examined the effects of different treatments.

In particular, we analyzed the immune response of the vaginal tissue after intravaginal inoculation to establish VVC. The rats treated with strain B-2178 showed a promising ability to maintain an immune-tolerant state in the vaginal epithelium. Through this action, it seemed capable of reducing uncontrolled inflammation, which is often a challenge during candidiasis.

Although our findings suggest that B-2178 may be beneficial in treating VVC, it's important to note that the overall focus was broader and did not isolate lactobacillus acidophilus alone. This makes it difficult to pinpoint the specific advantages of this particular strain compared to others.

Ultimately, it appears that while B-2178 exhibits potential, more targeted research is required to evaluate its effectiveness in isolating and addressing candidiasis comprehensively.

Excellent probiotic! I took it throughout my pregnancy, alternating two months of use with one month off. They worked perfectly for me. All smear tests were exceptionally good. My doctor approved their use, stating the composition was excellent. I did not experience thrush either; I believe that is their merit. Continuing them during breastfeeding is advisable. Yes, they are not cheap, but the results are worthwhile.

Taking probiotics during pregnancy increases interferon-gamma levels in blood and breast milk, positively affecting newborn immunity. It also protects the child from allergies. Mothers who took probiotics often have children with fewer allergies. Probiotics during breastfeeding assist in colonising the baby's intestines with beneficial microorganisms, reducing the risk of intestinal infections, colic, and allergic diathesis. They also support the mother's digestive health, which is paramount during this crucial time. I take courses every two months and plan an appointment in the third trimester. I feel well, my bowel movements are regular, and rashes on my face disappear when taken. My microflora analyses are also excellent. I highly recommend this for increasing beneficial bacteria and reducing infections.

We conducted a randomized, controlled trial in a pediatric emergency department to evaluate how effective Lactobacillus reuteri DSM 17938 is for treating acute gastroenteritis in young children. Our findings revealed that the probiotic significantly reduced the duration and frequency of diarrhea compared to a placebo.

Specifically, children given L. reuteri experienced less watery diarrhea and shorter episodes than those receiving no treatment. This safe and easy-to-administer supplement could be a valuable addition to standard care, especially in reducing complications from gastroenteritis.

Makes a huge difference! These probiotics have helped me tremendously! Upon discovering my pregnancy, I longed to have dairy again. I have Coeliac Disease, which made me sensitive to dairy. After taking these probiotics for a month, I tried dairy again and experienced no gas, bloating, pain, or diarrhoea. I feel SO much better and haven't had a cold since I started, even while pregnant. I must continue these while nursing, and I truly believe they enhance my mood. Highly recommend!

This study looked into how a specific synbiotic product, which includes Lactobacillus acidophilus along with other probiotics and fructooligosaccharides, affects digestive health among healthy adults. In a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled design, we monitored 36 participants—20 women and 16 men aged between 25 and 45 years—over six weeks.

Participants received either the synbiotic supplement or a placebo, taking three tablets daily. We gathered information on gastrointestinal symptoms and bowel habits through a self-administered questionnaire, focusing especially on those who experienced digestive disturbances like mild dyspepsia or bloating.

The results were promising; those who took the synbiotic product reported significant improvements in their overall gastrointestinal well-being and bowel movements. Interestingly, we also noted a reduction in a specific immune marker, L-selectin, in the synbiotic group, which could indicate a favorable shift in their immune profile. However, while the improvements in gut health were noteworthy, none of the other immunological parameters were significantly altered.

In summary, this study suggests that including Lactobacillus acidophilus as part of a synbiotic supplement can lead to better digestive comfort and may influence immune-related markers positively. However, pinpointing the exact effect of this specific strain on indigestion alone is challenging, given the multi-strain nature of the synbiotic treatment.

We explored the effects of Lactobacillus acidophilus fermentation products on weanling pigs that were challenged with a harmful strain of bacteria known as enterotoxigenic F4 Escherichia coli (F4-ETEC). To better understand this, we conducted a detailed study involving eighty pigs, which were divided into five groups based on different diets. This included a control diet, as well as diets supplemented with various fermentation products and zinc oxide.

After inoculating the pigs with F4-ETEC to simulate infection, we observed significant changes in the pigs’ fecal microbiome when they were given a combination of Lactobacillus and Saccharomyces products. These changes in the microbiome were previously linked to better growth performance and overall health in young pigs.

Interestingly, the pigs receiving both Lactobacillus acidophilus and Saccharomyces cerevisiae products showed an increase in final live weight. This suggests that using these postbiotics could help manage performance issues associated with ETEC without needing to eliminate the bacteria entirely from the pigs' environment. Therefore, while Lactobacillus acidophilus was not the sole hero in this study, its combined use proved beneficial in combatting the negative effects of this bacterial challenge.

We examined the urinary microbiome of women with interstitial cystitis and found it less diverse and containing fewer Lactobacillus acidophilus compared to a control group.

This lack of Lactobacillus was linked to more severe symptoms and poor quality of life. While we noted some associations between higher inflammatory markers and the severity of symptoms, we didn’t see a clear causal relationship.

Essentially, we’re still unsure if the presence of Lactobacillus can effectively reduce pelvic pain in this context.

We examined the effect of lactic acid bacteria, particularly Lactobacillus gasseri, on the harmful yeast Candida albicans. Our study showed that the metabolites from L. gasseri effectively inhibit the yeast's ability to grow and form biofilms, crucial for its pathogenicity. The research also indicated that these beneficial bacteria can keep C. albicans in a less harmful state by downregulating important genes responsible for its virulence. Overall, L. gasseri appears to be a promising option in the fight against vaginal yeast infections.
