Lactobacillus reuteri reduces diarrheaLactobacillus reuteri protectis DSM 17938 at high doses versus placebo in children with acute gastroenteritis in a Pediatric Emergency Department.
Most Relevant Research
We conducted a randomized, controlled trial in a pediatric emergency department to evaluate how effective Lactobacillus reuteri DSM 17938 is for treating acute gastroenteritis in young children. Our findings revealed that the probiotic significantly reduced the duration and frequency of diarrhea compared to a placebo.
Specifically, children given L. reuteri experienced less watery diarrhea and shorter episodes than those receiving no treatment. This safe and easy-to-administer supplement could be a valuable addition to standard care, especially in reducing complications from gastroenteritis.

Makes a huge difference! These probiotics have helped me tremendously! Upon discovering my pregnancy, I longed to have dairy again. I have Coeliac Disease, which made me sensitive to dairy. After taking these probiotics for a month, I tried dairy again and experienced no gas, bloating, pain, or diarrhoea. I feel SO much better and haven't had a cold since I started, even while pregnant. I must continue these while nursing, and I truly believe they enhance my mood. Highly recommend!
