Probiotics improve stress-related nausea
We conducted a double-blind, placebo-controlled study to assess how Lactobacillus acidophilus might help with stress-related gastrointestinal issues, particularly nausea. Over three weeks, volunteers received either a probiotic called Probio-Stick or a placebo.

We found that consumption of the probiotics significantly eased nausea and abdominal pain linked to stress. However, it didn't have a notable impact on other symptoms like sleep problems or psychological distress. Overall, our findings suggest that Probio-Stick is effective for alleviating certain gastrointestinal symptoms caused by stress.

We explored the effects of Bifidobacterium lactis HN019 on gut transit time and gastrointestinal symptoms among 100 adults with functional GI issues. Participants took either a high dose, a low dose, or a placebo over 14 days.

Our findings revealed significant improvements in gut transit time and a reduction in GI symptoms for those taking B. lactis compared to the placebo group. Interestingly, the high dose showed more pronounced benefits, leading to fewer symptoms and quicker gut transit.

Overall, we found that this probiotic strain is a safe option that may help alleviate digestive discomfort.

Bifidobacterium lactis shows mixed results
We explored the effects of Bifidobacterium lactis CCT 7858 in a study involving 104 hospitalized patients on antibiotics. In this randomized, double-blind trial, the treatment group experienced significant relief from diarrhea and abdominal discomfort.

However, nausea and vomiting were not reported in either group, indicating that while B. lactis helped improve other gastrointestinal symptoms, it did not specifically target nausea. Overall, we found that this probiotic strain is considered safe and beneficial but may not significantly reduce nausea in patients taking antibiotics.

Incredible nausea onset

Hate to write a bad review because it is somewhat circumstantial, but I became incredibly nauseated 15 minutes after taking one. The next day I vomited and had body aches and a headache. The box containing the pill was bent in the corners, though the seal was fine.

No nausea
Great! It took a week to arrive in Asia. I’ve used this prenatal probiotic with several bottles. The quality is excellent for me, as I experienced no nausea or vomiting. The dosage is suitable for those trying to conceive and during pregnancy. They are nicely sized, tasteless, and secured in good packaging. Thank you!

Probiotics show potential benefits
We observed patients who struggled to eliminate Helicobacter pylori after multiple attempts. They received a 2-week course of Lactobacillus acidophilus, followed by a ten-day eradication regimen.

While this treatment showed a high eradication rate of 97.3%, it did not significantly change the gastric microbiota or directly reduce nausea. Instead, it improved some beneficial bacteria and reduced overall dyspeptic symptoms.

Notably, some participants experienced mild adverse effects, including dizziness and nausea, which resolved after stopping the antibiotics.

Probiotics enhance H. pylori treatment
We explored the use of probiotics in triple therapy for treating Helicobacter pylori infections in children. Our analysis included 29 trials with over 3,100 participants.

The findings show that probiotic supplementation, specifically strains like Lactobacillus acidophilus, significantly improved eradication rates and reduced side effects.

This suggests that certain probiotics can offer added benefits during treatment, particularly in reducing nausea and vomiting.

Probiotics may help reduce nausea
We evaluated how probiotic supplementation could help manage nausea during bismuth-containing quadruple therapy in patients undergoing eradication treatment. Our study included 100 patients who received either probiotics or a placebo alongside their medication.

While the eradication rates were similar for both groups, those taking probiotics reported fewer cases of nausea and noticeable improvements in gastrointestinal symptoms. Additionally, the gut microbiota showed a positive return to baseline levels over time with probiotic use, highlighting their potential benefits in supporting digestive health during treatment.

Nausea relief issue

Side effects began in the third trimester. On the third day of taking the capsules, nausea started. I didn't realise the cause at first. After seven days, I tried to have them at night but was awoken by severe nausea. As soon as I stopped, my nausea disappeared. Perhaps they simply weren’t suitable for me.

Probiotics reduced bloating, not nausea
We explored how Lactobacillus acidophilus affects nausea in patients after Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery through a well-structured study.

In this randomized, double-blind trial, participants were divided into two groups: one received probiotics while the other received a placebo. After 90 days, those on probiotics reported a decrease in bloating but experienced more abdominal pain and episodes of nausea compared to the control group.

Ultimately, while probiotics helped with bloating, they did not significantly affect nausea or the prevalence of small intestine bacterial overgrowth (SIBO).
