After a major surgery to remove cancer, my immune system crashed. At first, it was an irritating little cold, but that was followed by a different one an so on. I also got the flu, which was so bad, they put me on anti-virals. The overall reality is that I got consecutive viruses for six months straight. My oncologist could not help me because she said that I had to be well for two weeks in order for them to do a blood test that checked my immune system. Being sick with one virus after another non-stop, this was not an option. The hardest part to swallow was that for whatever reason, I'm not one to get sick... the last virus I had had prior to cancer was in college- before that- high school! My profession? Classroom teacher. And, even though I don't like to admit my age, college was 20 years ago!! I just don't get sick...or I didn't at least... After one week, clearing up from the last virus, I got a new one- a head cold- right before a flight. After that one cleared up, I haven't had one since! It's been 9 months. After 6 months straight, I am finally virus invincable again!! ;-). Even sinus infections-though bacterial- I seem to be able to control! I do get them all of the time, lasting 2 weeks and always have. Now, when I feel one coming, I step up the Rm-10 and monolaurin, taking an additional pill mid-day and within a couple of days, I'm sinus infection free! Holy cow! I did have to have another follow up surgery and despite the rule of stopping supplements two weeks before surgery, I refused to stop taking these...I took them up to surgery day and started again the day after.
