We set out to explore how lactobacillus acidophilus, specifically strain B-2178, impacts vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC) in female rats. By dividing our study subjects into five groups, we included controls and examined the effects of different treatments.
In particular, we analyzed the immune response of the vaginal tissue after intravaginal inoculation to establish VVC. The rats treated with strain B-2178 showed a promising ability to maintain an immune-tolerant state in the vaginal epithelium. Through this action, it seemed capable of reducing uncontrolled inflammation, which is often a challenge during candidiasis.
Although our findings suggest that B-2178 may be beneficial in treating VVC, it's important to note that the overall focus was broader and did not isolate lactobacillus acidophilus alone. This makes it difficult to pinpoint the specific advantages of this particular strain compared to others.

The effect is very good. I often suffer from recurrent yeast infections due to frequent exercise in a hot and humid environment, which worsens symptoms like itching, especially before menstruation. This product is excellent, offering 50 billion lactic acid bacteria formulated by professionals, and although a bit pricey, I am very satisfied. I take it as soon as I wake up, and recommend it to others due to its efficacy. Even though Garden of Life products are costly, they are dedicated to quality and nutritional composition. If taken daily, one bottle lasts two months, making it affordable for maintaining health. Since a large part of immunity stems from gut health, consistent intake of lactic acid bacteria is beneficial, especially as this product includes prebiotics that aid absorption.

I did not like it. I did not notice any positive effects and, in fact, it caused thrush. I read somewhere that others had a similar reaction. I do not recommend it, although I appreciate other products from this brand.
