For instance, allyl propyl disulfide (APDS) present in Garlic has been found to enhance insulin secretion and regulate blood glucose levels. Additionally, studies have shown that Garlic extract may have antidiabetic properties by reducing inflammation and oxidative stress, both of which are risk factors for Diabetes
A study published in the Journal of Medicinal Food in 2020 observed that Garlic extract supplementation improved glucose metabolism and insulin sensitivity in individuals with prediabetes. Another study published in the Journal of Diabetes and Metabolic Disorders in 2021 demonstrated that Garlic oil supplementation resulted in reduced fasting blood sugar levels and improved lipid profiles in patients with type 2 Diabetes These findings suggest that Garlic may play a role in managing blood sugar levels and supporting overall metabolic health in individuals at risk of or already diagnosed with Diabetes
