We conducted a double-blind, placebo-controlled study to assess how Lactobacillus acidophilus might help with stress-related gastrointestinal issues, particularly nausea. Over three weeks, volunteers received either a probiotic called Probio-Stick or a placebo.
We found that consumption of the probiotics significantly eased nausea and abdominal pain linked to stress. However, it didn't have a notable impact on other symptoms like sleep problems or psychological distress. Overall, our findings suggest that Probio-Stick is effective for alleviating certain gastrointestinal symptoms caused by stress.

Saccharomyces boulardii alleviates nausea
Efficacy and safety of Saccharomyces boulardii in the 14-day triple anti-Helicobacter pylori therapy: a prospective randomized placebo-controlled double-blind study.
We investigated whether Saccharomyces boulardii could alleviate nausea and other discomforts during a 14-day treatment for Helicobacter pylori. In our study with 124 patients, half received S. boulardii while the other half received a placebo.
Participants reported improvements in gastrointestinal symptoms, such as diarrhea and epigastric discomfort. However, while S. boulardii helped with treatment tolerability and post-treatment nausea, it did not significantly enhance the overall success rate of eradicating H. pylori.

B. lactis reduces gut symptoms
Dose-response effect of Bifidobacterium lactis HN019 on whole gut transit time and functional gastrointestinal symptoms in adults.
We explored the effects of Bifidobacterium lactis HN019 on gut transit time and gastrointestinal symptoms among 100 adults with functional GI issues. Participants took either a high dose, a low dose, or a placebo over 14 days.
Our findings revealed significant improvements in gut transit time and a reduction in GI symptoms for those taking B. lactis compared to the placebo group. Interestingly, the high dose showed more pronounced benefits, leading to fewer symptoms and quicker gut transit.
Overall, we found that this probiotic strain is a safe option that may help alleviate digestive discomfort.

Nausea relief during chemo

Garden of Life is the best! I began using these while undergoing chemotherapy for stage 3 breast cancer, where the nausea was unbearable. While not a complete remedy, they significantly reduced my nausea and enhanced my immunity. If I stop taking them, I feel bloated and lethargic; resuming use brings back my energy and well-being. Moreover, if my stomach is upset after eating, two of these make it right again, and I can’t emphasise how phenomenal they are for bowel regularity and digestion. Highly recommend!

Nausea decreases significantly
22 people found this helpful
Works for me! Since December 2010, I had a persistent "stomach thing," leading to a lack of appetite and digestive issues, including bouts of nausea. After recalling I had some of these vitamins, I started taking one daily. Within weeks, my appetite and digestion normalised. I also experienced fewer painful episodes of gas after eating. I plan on continuing to take these indefinitely, as the excellent value for health benefits is truly worth it.

Saccharomyces boulardii aids nausea relief
Efficacy and safety of as an adjuvant therapy for the eradication of : a meta-analysis.
We examined how adding Saccharomyces boulardii to conventional treatments could aid in eradicating certain gastric infections. Through a thorough search of databases over the past two decades, we focused on outcomes, including nausea and other side effects.
Our findings suggest that incorporating Saccharomyces boulardii significantly enhances eradication rates while also decreasing nausea and other gastrointestinal issues. This gives us hope for better treatment options in battling these prevalent gastric conditions.
The effect of Saccharomyces boulardii supplementation on Helicobacter pylori eradication in children: a systematic review and meta-analysis of Randomized controlled trials.
We explored how Saccharomyces boulardii supplementation, when added to standard triple therapy (STT), can impact children’s nausea during H. pylori treatment. Analyzing data from 15 randomized controlled trials with over 2,000 participants, we found that S. boulardii significantly reduced nausea rates compared to STT alone—down to 12.7% from 21.3%.
Besides nausea, there were also lower occurrences of other gastrointestinal side effects. This suggests that S. boulardii not only aids in treating the infection but also makes the treatment process easier for kids.

S. boulardii helps reduce nausea
Investigating the effect of quadruple therapy with Saccharomyces boulardii or Lactobacillus reuteri strain (DSMZ 17648) supplements on eradication of Helicobacter pylori and treatments adverse effects: a double-blind placebo-controlled randomized clinical trial.
We conducted a double-blind, placebo-controlled study to see how Saccharomyces boulardii might help in reducing nausea during Helicobacter pylori eradication therapy.
Our findings suggest that those taking S. boulardii experienced significantly fewer gastrointestinal symptoms, including nausea, when compared to the control group.
While S. boulardii showed promise in alleviating some treatment-related side effects, Lactobacillus reuteri did not have notable effects. Further research with larger sample sizes is recommended to deepen our understanding.
