Can't Beat This Price! We use this on our child.
I bought this as a substitute for Miralax and because it is much cheaper here than even the store brands on the shelves at the stores. I want to share why/how we are using this product in case it helps/encourages anyone else to try it. Pleas excuse my layman's explanation! Our son, who just turned 6, all of a sudden started having small poop accidents in his pants during the day. He would run to the bathroom every time, but there was already some in his pants. Since he was previously potty-trained, this didn't make sense. So, we went to the pediatrician. She told us that sometimes when people get really constipated over a long time - like not drinking enough fluids/eating enough fiber, your sphincter and bowels get stretched out (yes, from the large poops that aren't coming out), and that then you may not be able to feel the feeling that you would normally feel from your bowel sphincter contracting. Which in our son's case, would lead to accidents. He literally can't FEEL when he needs to go until he's already going. Her recommendation was to give him a capful of Miralax for awhile so that his poop would be softer and come out more easily, allowing his bowel/sphincter to retract to normal size. Her theory made sense because 1) we just moved to CO within the past 6 months and it's crazy dry here, so you need to stay extra hydrated and 2) our son just started Kindergarten this past fall - and he basically has no opportunity for drinks for hours on end, and 3) we have shared custody and mommy makes him poop at least daily but daddy did not, so every other week he was even more constipated. We have been giving him Miralax for about a month. He does still have accidents, but not as many and his poop has become a lot more regular and softer, so I think her theory is working. We mix it well into his morning chocolate milk to serve it. Daddy didn't stir it well the first time and it was goopy, but we learned and now he can't even tell it's in his milk. It is tasteless, colorless powder - and the cap doubles as the measurer. So, it would mix well into any milk or juice. As an aside, Inworried that regular use would cause him Diarrhea or something, but it hasn't. For a laxative, it is super duper mild
