The Benefits of Vitamin D, Constipation Treatment

Vitamin D is primarily recognized for its role in promoting calcium absorption and supporting bone health. However, some studies have investigated its potential benefits in preventing or alleviating Constipation as well. While there is limited research available specifically focusing on Constipation preliminary findings suggest that Vitamin D may play a role in improving bowel function.

Several studies have shown a link between low Vitamin D levels and increased prevalence of Constipation A review published in the World Journal of Gastroenterology in 2014 analyzed multiple studies and found that individuals with low Vitamin D levels were more likely to experience Constipation symptoms. Additionally, a small-scale study conducted in 2019 suggested that supplementation of Vitamin D improved stool frequency and consistency in patients with chronic Constipation
