Top Medical Research Studies

We focused on a case of pernicious anemia in a 51-year-old Ugandan man who presented with recurring lower limb weakness. After initial treatment for vitamin B12 deficiency years ago and further testing, we confirmed his diagnosis of pernicious anemia marked by low cobalamin levels. Thanks to timely parenteral methylcobalamin therapy, he showed improvement. This case underscores the importance of recognizing vitamin B12 deficiency, especially in rural and resource-limited settings, to address neurological symptoms quickly.

Pernicious anemia misdiagnosed as fibromyalgia
We explored a notable case of a woman suffering from pernicious anemia, an autoimmune condition that can be misdiagnosed due to its vague symptoms like fatigue and cognitive issues.

After years of struggling with these nonspecific symptoms, her low vitamin B12 levels were finally identified as the underlying cause.

Upon receiving treatment with vitamin B12, she experienced neurological improvements, highlighting the importance of recognizing this deficiency, even when traditional anemia indicators are absent.

Nicotinamide suppresses autoimmune activation
We explored the influence of Nicotinamide (NAM), a form of vitamin B3, on dendritic cells (DCs) in autoimmune diseases. Our research indicates that NAM can effectively reduce the overactivation of DCs, helping to ease symptoms in conditions like psoriasis.

Through detailed analysis of available studies, we found that NAM affects DCs via a specific signaling pathway, ultimately offering a potential new direction for treatment. Importantly, these findings highlight NAM’s significant role in managing autoimmune disorders related to immune response regulation.

Very effective. This is my second time ordering this remedy. After surgery, my hair was falling out significantly. After taking it, I quickly noticed a halt to this ‘molting’, which gave me peace of mind.

Less hair loss

I took these vitamins for about two months, one capsule daily. I've noticed a significant reduction in hair fall; while some hair comes out during washing, it has definitely improved overall. I finished the jar and will be ordering another.

Biotin deficiency mimics neurological disorders
We explored three cases of biotinidase deficiency (BTD) that were misdiagnosed as neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (NMOSD) due to similar symptoms and neuroimaging results. Initially, two patients responded to immune therapy but later relapsed, while one showed no improvement. Interestingly, after timely diagnosis and biotin supplementation, two patients exhibited remarkable recoveries in both motor function and vision. This highlights the critical need for accurate diagnosis, as early treatment of BTD can lead to significant improvements.

Vitamin B may indicate GBS severity
We aimed to see if vitamin B levels could signal the severity of Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) and its potential for complications like respiratory failure. Our study involved 50 GBS patients, where we examined their vitamin B and creatine kinase levels alongside their motor abilities.

Interestingly, we found that 44% of patients had low vitamin B levels, which linked strongly to GBS severity. However, while vitamin B showed predictive value, the creatine kinase levels did not relate to GBS severity.

Vitamins did not suit me. Although I read reviews claiming these vitamins were excellent for hair loss, I experienced the opposite effect. Instead of feeling energised, I felt lethargic and sleepy after taking them. I consumed them for two weeks at the recommended dosage, but whenever I missed a dose, the drowsiness went away. My hair continued to fall out; perhaps I didn't give them enough time. I won’t be purchasing these again and have opted for different vitamins.

Family benefits

I ordered this for my teenage daughter based on a doctor's recommendation to enhance her intestinal function, bolster her immune system and manage emotional stress. We are starting to notice positive effects, so the whole family has begun taking it as we've heard vitamin B can help reduce panic attacks following our COVID experiences.

Minimal improvements
I did not notice significant changes after taking these for two months. I experienced no adverse reactions and there were some improvements, likely indicating no deficiency of vitamin B. My husband and son had no noticeable effects while taking them alongside me. I plan to explore other multivitamins next.
