Effective for chest cold

In Europe, they refer to N-acetyl cysteine (N-A-C) as Mucomyst, used similarly to Mucinex by Americans. When I have a bad chest cold, I use all three: N-A-C increases phlegm, while Mucinex helps dislodge it, and Ambroxol prevents thickening. This combination is remarkably effective, and N-A-C is the most affordable option.

Easier mucus expulsion

This product is excellent for COPD as it breaks up mucus for easier expulsion. I've experienced an energy boost as well. After issues with the NOW brand, I switched to Jarrow’s lower mg formula, and it’s working well for me. I would suggest reading Natural Therapies by Robert Green Jr. for more information. I believe I experience cold sensitivity as a side effect, feeling chilly for a few minutes, but it's manageable.

Reduced sinus congestion

I’ve been taking N-A-C on and off for over three years, and it has greatly alleviated my sinus congestion. N-A-C supplements provide extra L-cysteine, aiding in the production of Glutathione—essential for our antioxidant defence. I've settled on Jarrow Formulas, which has a combined quick and sustained release formula. This ensures my stomach feels fine and provides consistent levels of L-cysteine. After starting N-A-C, my sinus congestion during cold and allergy season noticeably improved, allowing me to breathe easier and requiring fewer nasal strips.

I've been taking Jarrow N-A-C Sustain twice a day for nearly a year now, and it has been brilliant for my mood and gut issues. I've noticed that I don’t catch colds or the flu as easily anymore.
