Take this when taking an antibiotic to avoid digestive/intestinal problems.
When I had Pneumonia earlier this year, my doctor prescribed an antibiotic. Like many people, my digestive system does not do well when taking them. My doctor advised probiotics and a nurse friend recommended S. Boulardii as the best strain to take. After I did a little research, I found that Jarrow, a brand I trust, had this product available. Why use Saccharomyces Boulardii? Because unlike other probiotics, this is a yeast and will survive a trip through the stomach allowing it to colonize the intestinal tract. Other probiotics never make it to the intended target. The Jarrows S. Boulardii worked beautifully. It kept my digestive system in good order. I had only a small amount of stomach bloating and no major issues. This product compares favorably to Florastor but at a much lesser price. Anyone taking an antibiotic should also be taking the probiotic S. Boulardii. I will also add (for the ladies) that this is not a candida yeast, so no need to worry about causing a yeast infection. However, should an antibiotic-induced yeast infection occur, do not take Diflucan while taking the S. Boulardii. Diflucan is non-discriminatory and will kill all yeast, good and bad
